something short and stupid I came up with while waiting for my rpg-partner to show up... (yes, I'm playing rpg now...(grins)) it's utterly pointless, but it insisted on being written anyway... so blame my plot bunnies. and my rpg-partner XP

disclaimer: Weiß Side B belongs to Koyasu Takehito-san, The Man Whose Name I Can't Pronounce, and Shoko Omine-san, whom I love for all those K/A-hints... (giggles). I'm writing this just because my plot bunny threatened me, and I'm not making any money with it. So there.

Fraternizing

'Where's Chloé?', Aya asked, coming back to the Kittens House from accompanying a customer home (A regular customer, who always bought more flowers than she could carry, mind you; he wouldn't have done this for just anyone. There were limits to customer service.)

As far as he knew, it was the Romanian's shift in the shop, and he was nowhere to be seen.

'Upstairs, I think.', Yuki replied absently from where he was sitting at the counter, watching the shop while doing his homework.

'And Ken?' While normally not one to skip work, Aya's self-declared partner was at the moment only suspicious through his absence.

'Upstairs, too.'

A sudden worry made KB's team leader hurry just there.

Having reached the living room, he stopped just before entering the kitchen. The reason for this being, Ken sitting at the kitchen table with his back to the team leader, one leg drawn to his chest and one hand dangling limply, talking to Chloé who also had his back to Aya, but who was standing at the sink and watching the water drip through the coffee filter.

'-don't know what you get from it.", Ken was just finishing a sentence. 'In a car you're so… cut off. Riding a bike, 's like, hm, you're more in touch with the world.'

…he'd obviously caught the tail end of a discussion about bikes and cars, Aya realized. And one that went without shouting, which amazed him to no end.

'Bikes are for adrenaline junkies. Cars are more… cultivated.' Chloé put the filter in the sink and took out two cups, then thought better of it, put one cup back and replaced it with a mug. Before he turned around, Aya drew back into the living room where he wouldn't be seen.

'Bah.' Ken snorted. 'I'd take you on a ride if I still had my bike, just so you see what it's like. Bet you never even sat on one.'

The clink of china being put onto a hard surface. 'You're prejudiced.'

Aya retreated further, not wanting to listen in on them any longer. A small smile played on his lips as he stepped down into the shop again; he'd have to remind himself of rewarding the two, just a little, for getting along…

Ah, well, I said it was pointless... (shrugs)
