Cell in the Garbage
Themes: A very ansty, very morbid Tifa…
He was on his cell phone again.
It wasn't a rare sight to see. He practically talked into it 24/7. Whether it was about business or conversing with a friend, he would always pick up his cell when it rang. He never talked to her anymore. They lived in the SAME freaking house, slept on the SAME bed. Tifa did not understand how a small machine could ruin her marriage.
Before he had one of those cells, he would always have time to talk to her. When they were dating, he would –everyday-bring her a single flower and walk her to work. Every single day, he would say that he loved her, and that nothing could replace that place in his heart.
She had no doubt that she still had that place in his heart, but his time is now consumed by his cell phone, not her. It may sound a bit selfish but, they are husband and wife! Aren't married couples supposed to spend quality time together?
She makes dinner for him every night and waits…
An hour later, he still does not show up and she cleans up the table. The leftover dishes in the fridge are always full and untouched in the morning. She figures that he orders takeout every night as dinner.
At night, she waits in their bed until he comes home and joins her. That is the only way she can sleep peacefully. He would always set his alarm on his cell phone and check his schedule for the next day. His whole life ran on that thing.
It seemed that whatever she could do, his cell phone could do it better and more efficiently. It could bring him food faster, tell him which delivery he had to do faster,
One especially sunny day, he had forgotten his cell phone, which was an unbelievable thing to imagine.
She saw it on his desk while cleaning up his office. There laid the dreadful communicating device. She glared at it hard, as if it should disintegrate from her powerful gaze.
In one sweep, she picked the cell up by a corner. She thought it looked hideous. The shiny silver coated plastic protecting all the internal hardware, the flashy logo of the company. She flipped it open and the screen read '1 missed call'. It was disgusting.
She pretends to accidentally drop it on the hard ground. It didn't break. She got angry, picked it up and threw it across the room.
The tiny cell phone smashed against the wall and shattered into millions of pieces from the impact.
She casually went to get a broom and swiftly cleaned up the mess. She dumped all the pieces into the garbage can and slammed the lid back on.
As she walked away, Tifa smiled.
If Cloud asked where it was, she'd say, "What phone?"
This was written when I felt very wierd so don't even bother trying to figure out what was going through my head;D
