Alright, so, this is my first fanfiction ever. I have this whole plot planned out, but I'm going to start with a simple chapter to begin it all. Hopefully I get inspired to write more chapters quickly.

Bleach and all of it's respective characters belong to Tite Kubo.

It wasn't the best decision she ever made in her life, but she did not regret it. She had to leave that place. There was nothing there for her, other than lonely days , in which she spent her time doing absolutely nothing. Of course, it wasn't going to be easy being somewhere else for the first time. All she could think about was surviving, somehow. She had some money with her, but getting settled somewhere wasn't just about money to her. It was about meeting people, making her friends, having an actual life, not just living somewhere alone, doing nothing. That's the reason she left in the first place.

She spent all day walking around the Seireitei, simply exploring as much as she could, figuring she would spend her night at an inn, once she was done. Night had fallen, which was a sign that her exploring was done. She wasn't too fond of the night. Many people thought of the night as quiet, peaceful and calming. Those were precisely the reasons why she didn't like it. Still, the sky looked pretty at night, so she had to take a short moment to look up at it and admire the view.

Once she looked straight ahead once more, she saw the figure of a man. A man walking by. Most women would first notice his good looks, but she noticed something else. She noticed his eyes. They revealed nothing but coldness. She could tell he wasn't a man who would ever express his feelings. He would always have that same look on his face. A look of seriousness that hides any emotions he could possibly feel at any given time.

Suddenly, she snapped back to reality when she realized he was looking at her now. Probably wondering why in the world she was staring at him. He didn't say a word, but his eyes demanded an answer.

"Sorry, I didn't expect to see anyone around here this late", came her reason, though not an honest one. She didn't like lying, but she knew telling him the truth would only make matters worse.

"That's hardly a reason to stare at someone", he replied, in a cold and serious tone, his eyes fixated upon her, but not looking any less cold and piercing than before. This didn't surprise her, though it did make her feel like staring at him annoyed him more than she thought.

Her first response was a small, but sweet and warm smile. It was time to be honest.

"I noticed your expression. You seem so serious. It's none of my business but it just interested me for a moment", she confessed, her tone being quite the opposite of his.

As soon as the words left her mouth, she turned around to walk away, knowing the conversation was over now that she had given him an answer. She was well aware that he would have no more interest in her, and that she shouldn't interrupt him any further.

Byakuya merely watched the girl walk away for a small bit before returning to his walk, his expression still unchanged.
