One sunny day, Ling Xiaoyu was sitting and leaning against a tree, outside her school. She had her diary in her hand and a pen. She's was writing stuff about her love life. She began to read what she had written.
August 7
Dear Diary
I ran into Jin Kazama at school today. Yes, the Jin Kazama, the most popular boy in school. I stare at him, but he doesn't look straight into my eyes, he always acted like he was looking off somewhere else. I opened my mouth to say something, but nothing came out. Then he walked off without a word. I was going to call after him, but I decided not to. Jin never liked me, but I've always loved him.
Later that day, it was lunch time in the cafeteria and I had my food tray, looking for a place to sit. I didn't have any friends, except for my friend Miharu, but she had moved away last week. So I was all alone. I looked around and saw Jin sitting at a table with his friends. I asked to sit with them, but Jin had said 'No'. Jin only says one word to me. Only one. I walked away sadly and found an empty table to sit at.
Xiaoyu closed her diary and sighed. What is she going to do now? She looked around. High school kids were talking, laughing, and having a good time with each other. And here was Xiaoyu sitting alone, next to this old oak tree.
"What are you doing over here all alone?" a voice asked.
Xiaoyu looked at the familiar face of Hwoarang, standing near her. He was Jin's rival.
"What do you want, Hwoarang?" She asked.
"I was just walking by and I saw you, sitting here all alone," Hwoarang replied.
Xiaoyu just looked away from him.
"What's the matter?" Hwoarang asked, as he leaned against the tree. "Is it Kazama again?"
Xiaoyu nodded sadly.
"Want me to go beat him up for you?"
Xiaoyu looked at him shocked. "No! Don't do that!"
"Okay, okay. I'll see you later then," Hwoarang started walking away.
"Wait,"
Hwoarang looked at her.
"C-can you stay and talk with me? I don't like sitting here alone…"
Hwoarang walked over and leaned against the tree again. "What do you want to talk about?"
Xiaoyu shrugged. "I don't know…"
Hwoarang rolled his eyes. "Alright, I'm just going to say something random. You're short,"
Xiaoyu frowned at him. "What? I'm not short!"
"Yes you are. It's a fact,"
"Fine!" Xiaoyu growled.
"Don't get mad. It is a fact and you know it,"
Xiaoyu sighed. "Let's talk about something else now. Like…Jin!"
"What? You talk too much about Kazama,"
"No I don't,"
"Yeah…whatever. You really like Kazama don't you?"
Xiaoyu just stared down at her diary. "I don't really like him like I used to,"
Hwoarang pulled a flower from the ground and dropped it on Xiaoyu's lap.
"What's this for?" Xiaoyu asked.
Hwoarang shrugged. "Just something to show you how I feel. Later," he started walking away with his hands in his pockets.
Xiaoyu blinked. Did Hwoarang like her? She picked up the flower and put it in her hair.
"Thanks Hwoarang…"
The End
