It was hard to bear without feeling really awkward. Anna and Elsa were sitting silently next to the table where a group of teens spent the last 10 minutes debating about the topic. They kept giving each other looks, trying to decide what to do. Leaving the inn all of a sudden would ruin their cover, especially with the fact that the bartender was staring at them suspiciously. Who are those two hooded persons who entered his bar?
With the low light of the candles now that the night was down, their faces were hard to distinguish.
"I'm gonna order something to drink", suggested Anna, standing up.
"Hey, don't leave me!"
"I'm just gonna get us some beers."
Elsa knew her sister took this decision to go away from the noisy group of teens which was now listing the pros and cons. But she also knew that Anna was thirsty from the trip, and that actually ordering something would go well with their cover.
Anna walked to the bar and Elsa was left alone.
Now that Anna was not between the group and her anymore, a girl among the teens noticed that she was young as well, and took a little survey.
"Hey, girl, help me in my argument here. I think that leaving family is a good reason to have a royal life. What d'ya think?"
It took a while to Elsa to realize that she was talking to her. She froze, almost literally.
"M…Me?"
The girl rolled her eyes. "Yeah, you, duhh"
They were all turned to her now. Elsa blushed and tried to call Anna with her gaze for help, but she was chatting with the bartender and had her back turned. She was doomed.
"I… Uhm…"
Elsa noticed how hesitant (and therefore, very suspicious) she sounded and cleared her throat.
"It's a bit complex, in my case."
The teens exchanged a look, some huffed. "Oh yeah? How's that? It's a pretty easy choice to make." She mocked.
Elsa smirked. "Well, not really. Because, you see, I can't be away from my family and in the castle at the same time. They basically are the same thing to me."
There was a silence as every teen got confused and raised sarcastic eyebrows. Elsa smiled broadly. At the end of the table, the shy teen who hasn't spoken much until now suddenly widened her eyes, and her face became as red as a beet.
"Guys…"
"That's stupid" started a teen, not paying attention to his friend who was trying to say something. "What kind of situation are you even in to say that"
They all chuckled, except the young girl.
"GUYS…"
"Yeah, not very relatable, right?" chuckled the girl who was closer to Elsa.
"GUYS!"
They stopped laughing and turned to the shy girl with annoyed faces.
"What?!"
"That… It's… She… That voice…"
The girl gulped. "Remember that I told you that I went to yesterday's Queen's speech?"
One teen shrugged. "Yeah, and?" He said as he drank his beer. "I never attend any of her speeches anyway."
The girl pointed a trembling finger in front of her.
Elsa smirked and lifted her hood, revealing her face.
"It's a shame, you should really come. I talked about the new extension for the school."
He spit the totality of what he just had in his mouth. The girl next to Elsa gasped and almost felt off her chair, and the other teens made a loud noise that was a mix of several "WHATOHMYGODHOLYSHIT".
Anna turned her head to that specific sound. Seeing Elsa unmasked herself and was now wearing the biggest devil smile ever, she shook her head and sighed. "What a drama queen."
