A/n: This is my first Longmire Fiction! this is tagged to 1.07 and 1.08! I realized that there is not nearly enough of it, and thought to contribute. I also know that there is only 7 (excluding my own) Cady and Branch Fics. I honestly don't know why, i am a hardcore shipper for these two! I hope you enjoy it and please kindly read and review!

Disclaimer:I unfortunately don't own the show, actors, books, any of it. If I did I would climb Bailey Chase like a tree.
He had gotten his heart broken, just like that. Cady was more than just a passing fling for him. He felt like he had finally found someone that could be a match for him. She was sweet, caring and had the biggest heart, but was also strong willed. Branch himself had only one of the four things. He was pretty hard headed, you could just ask anyone. He admired the other four things that Cady possessed. When she mentioned the sheriff race and how if he weren't running things may be different, she didn't realize how serious he was when he said that he would be willing to drop out. Hell he was willing to do a hell of a lot more. It wasn't something he would admit out loud, but Branch Connelly had fallen in love. To make matters worse it was with his boss's daughter. She had told him that she didn't want to change his life. She already had.
Branch was not a romantic man, in any way. Cady made him want to be one. When she broke it off, he didn't stop trying to get her back into his life. He called and called to the point, that if she wanted to she could easily get him arrested for harassment, not that she ever would. He didn't know how she just came into his life and changed him without her even knowing it. And when he walked in to the station and saw her with the baby, he couldn't help but think of her as a mother to their own child. There she was in front of him showing him everything that he would ever want and there was not a thing he could do. it was like his own little personal hell.
When he went to walk them to the social workers car, he did it so he could finally talk to her alone. When she told him to stop bothering with calling her his heart managed to break a little more. Then when he went to take one last look at her, the Social Worker had gotten Stabbed, and in a blind moment of panic he saw the assailant going after Cady and reacted. He could not and would not let any harm to ever come to her. when he took out October, he went straight to her, to insure she was okay. The suspect was fleeing but he didn't give a damn. That is until Vic got hit by a car, he didn't want to but he had to go to vic. He was royally screwed. he had fallen in love with a woman that refused to stay with him out of guilt, and there was no falling out of love, at least not in the distant future.
But would he ever admit this out loud? Branch, hard headed Branch Nope no way. But deep inside he knew that it was true. Cady was the woman for him and he knew that but the love, the way he felt: he didn't even know what that meant. Perhaps he never will...
