This is total wishful thinking on my part (hence the title) based on spoilers but here's a bit of a twist...enjoy!

Rayna had already gone down memory lane and envisioned what her future would look like if she chose Deacon or if she chose Luke. Life on a ranch with Luke or life at the cabin with Deacon, she honestly could not decide which was the right choice.

Tandy continued to ramble on, offering her two cents in the matter while Rayna sat at her vanity staring at the two beautiful rings. Her heart nearly jumped out of her chest when she heard her phone ring. She glanced down at the name lit up on the screen. 'Deacon'

She slowly picked it up, holding it in her shaky hands as her thumb contemplated whether to swipe the answer button or not. She glanced up in the mirror at her sister, shooting her a look.

"Okay I get it." Tandy said stepping out of the room to give Rayna some privacy.

"Hey." She answered, trying to control her nerves.

He must've been nervous too as it took him a second to reply. "Hey, I'm-I'm surprised you answered."

"What's up?"

"I've been thinking a lot you know about last night."

Oh no, she thought. Was he about to take back everything he said to her? Was he going to apologize for kissing her? In that moment she wasn't sure whether that would make this situation better or worse.

Then she looked down at the two rings sitting side by side knowing he would never do that. "Me too."

"I haven't slept." He confided. She sighed, neither had she. "Been writing." Why didn't she thought of that? She had enough heartache to fill an entire album. "And then Erika called, asked me to play tonight at the Bluebird. I was hoping you'd consider coming?"

She swallowed hard. She still hadn't come any closer to making a decision. "Yeah-yeah I'll do that." She said, trying not to give any hint that she would be there or not be there.

"I meant every word and no matter what you decide I'll always love you and the girls you know that?"

She smiled. "Yeah I do."

"Well I should go. Gotta rehearse before tonight. Goodbye Ray."

"Bye." She hung up the phone, still captivated by the rings in front of her. She still wasn't sure what she was going to do.

Tandy walked back in the room. "Well who was it?"

"That was- that was Deacon."

"Okay and how did it go?"

"He invited me to see him play tonight at the Bluebird."

Tandy raised her eyebrows, planting her hand on her hip. "What did you say?"

Rayna stood from the vanity, walking past her sister and into her bedroom. "I didn't tell him anything because I still don't know Tandy!"

"Well either way your life changes completely. You realize that?"

Rayna sits down on the bed. "Yes, I'm aware. I mean this is marriage we're talking about."

"You know how I feel."

"I do know how you feel. Of course I'm the one who's going to have to live with the decision."

"I may not have to sleep with your decision but we're all going to be impacted by it one way or another."

"I know, I know. Thank you for reminding me as if I haven't been thinking about that all day."

Tandy pats her sister's hand and walks around the bed. "I'll leave you to it."

Rayna thought for a moment. It was now or never. Time to take that next step and get it over with before she changed her mind again. She scrolled through her phone, finding the number in her contacts, even though she had it memorized by heart. His phone went to voicemail but she was too happy to care. "Hey, so I'm going to come tonight. I love you."

Tandy stood behind her. "So you made up your mind?"

"Yeah I did."

And then Deacon sings that beautiful song for her at the Bluebird and Luke shows up, hears the song, takes a swing at Deacon (because he knows he can't compete and he's jealous). And they live happily ever after! ;)
