EXT. SUNNYDALE GRAVEYARD – NIGHT
Pan up to see a figure sitting on the ground in front of a gravestone with head bowed.
VAMPIRE (OS)
What have we got here?
We see a big beefy vampire – looks like an ex-football player but he is not vamped out, yet.
VAMPIRE
Little girl, you shouldn't be out here all alone. There are big, bad things that can take advantage of a nice little treat like you.
He saunters up to the girl
VAMPIRE
Little Miss Muffet, Sat on a Tuffet, Eating her curds and way, along came a SPIDER
(Vamps Out)
Who sat down besides her
And frightened Miss Muffett away
DAWN
That's pretty good. Did you think up that one on all on your own?
Dawn jumps up and kicks the Vampire in the head. The vampire falls back a little, surprised. Dawn attacks, two punches to the gut and one to the head. Vampire gets a nice shot against Dawn's jaw, she falls back against a tombstone. There are sounds from the bushes. Dawn turns her head to the side and shakes it. She gets up and she and the vampire circle each other trading blows.
VAMPIRE
What are you? Who are you?
DAWN
Oh, that was rude of me. I'm Dawn and you
(Dawn takes out a stake and dusts him)
are dust.
Dawn dusts off her pants and straightens her hair.
DAWN
(to the bushes)
So, how did I do?
SPIKE
Not bad pet, not bad. He did get one good shot in. Plus, the puns could do with some work.
DAWN
I thought it was good, like that movie, "From Dust to Dawn".
SPIKE
(smiles wistfully)
Yeah, the one with Selma Hayek and the snake.
DAWN
(snapping her fingers)
Earth to Spike. Hello Spike.
BUFFY (OS)
Hello? Dawn?
Dawn and Spike look a little startled.
BUFFY
Who were you talking to?
DAWN
Oh, No one.
BUFFY
Well, I know that you can take care of yourself. But you still have to be careful. There are a lot of big bads out there.
DAWN
(smiling)
Yeah, gotta watch out for the big bad.
BUFFY
You never know when they are going to show up.
SPIKE
(softly)
Yeah, you never do.
BEETLE (OS)
So, Harris, how's it going?
INT- UPPER FLOOR OF CONSTRUCTION SITE - DAY
Stephan "Beetle" Lee is tall Asian man who is very good looking. Any similarities to Brendon Lee (Bruce Lee's son) is all to the good. Xander has three light scars on his cheek.
XANDER
Hey, Beetle, pretty good for a day with the working.
BEETLE
Yeah, man, I know what you mean.
BEETLE
Hey, do you like to play pool.
XANDER
(excitedly)
Yes! I am pool boy, or pool man, or I am playing with the pool.
BEETLE
That's good, a couple of us guys are going to the Bronze tonight, wanna join?
XANDER
Sure! What time?
BEETLE
Around 7?
(Xander nods)
Hey, I've been meaning to ask you, how did you get that?
(Points to the scars)
XANDER
Uh, would you believe saving the world from total destruction?
(off look)
How about saving a really mad kitten?
BEETLE
A mad kitten?
XANDER
Well, a man's gotta do what a man's gotta do.
BEETLE
Yes, yes he does.
Beetle turns and his eyes flash green.
