When Enjolras wakes up, he is in a woman´s bedroom.

It is lovely room, with lush color, flowers, and a woman sitting on the chair, reading a book. She has richly red hair, lustrous like an angel´s halo, and long flowing morning gown. It´s pale lavender is lined by white lace and lilac satin ribbons.

She sees that Enjolras has woken up and smiles.

"Good morning," she says.

"Good morning, Citizenness. Where am I?" Enjolras asks.

"In the house of my father, Monsieur Ultime Fauchelevent. He found you in the barricade, among the bodies. You were badly wounded and left for dead, but you will recover."

"And others?"

She is quiet for a fleeting moment. "Everyone else is dead. I´m sorry."

Silence. Then: ""What is your name, Citizenness?

""Cosette Fauchelevent."

Cosette. Enjolras remembers the name. Courfeyrac has mentioned it. Object of Marius´ distant admiration. According to amused Courfeyrac, Marius´ smitten description had not sound a young girl, but pure and pristine Romantic ideal.

"Thank you. For you and your father."
