Snow And Mistletoe

Alice awoke to the sight of white snowflakes falling down outside the window.

A warm smile went across her face, today was Christmas Eve and it was snowing in Wonderland at last.

She rolled to her side where a gently snoring Tarrant lay on his back, his wild ginger hair flat on the pillow.

It's been two years since their romantic and emotional wedding blessed by the White Queen.

Alice could remember it like it happened yesterday, the memories so strong and powerful that she doubt she would ever forget it.

Her body began to get restless staying in the warm bed so she slowly got up and put on her dressing gown that lay on the chair.

"Good morning, Alice."

His voice startled her that she spun around to see him with a wide grin and bright green eyes sparkling.

"Hatter! You scared me." She said, placing her hand on her chest.

"Oh I'm so sorry, pet. How stupid of I, to cause you such distress. I shouldn't do that anymore, ack!" He raved.

"Hatter." Alice spoke, sternly.

"I'm fine." He cried, lowering his gaze on the sheets.

"Thank you."

"You're welcome."

She sat back down to cup Tarrant's face, that was when he looked into her eyes.

For a moment, Alice felt those orbs made it's way through her soul and capture it once more without a word of protest.

Her heart pounded even more faster now, it had to be the most romantic moment since their wedding day.

But Tarrant broke the enchantment by moving his eyes to the window.

"Snow!" He cried, hopping out of bed and rushing towards it in five seconds flat.

Alice went to join him, admiring the weather and the child like features across her husband's face.

"We haven't had snow for years here in Wonderland but now that you are here, everything has changed." He said, turning to look at her.

She shrugged her shoulders.

"I'm not sure about that, Hatter. I've been here for two years, why didn't it snow the year before?" She asked with a frown.

"Perhaps Wonderland had to get used to the fact that you are staying here for good." He suggested, taking her small hands into his.

She smiled at him which he replied with a even bigger grin that she hadn't seen before.

Suddenly, out of nowhere, a small patch of mistletoe formed above their heads.

Alice was the first to notice it by a simple gasp out of her mouth.

"Hatter, look!" She cried, pointed at it.

He chuckled at the discovery and the adoreable look on his wife's face.

"How did that get up there?" She asked, curiously.

"Magic, I guess." He replied, with a wink.

Alice looked back at him with a another smile and they sweetly kissed for a matter of seconds.

Once they broke away, Hatter suggested to play in the snow and so they did.
