Homecoming

"Once we step through, we might not be able to come back. We may never see our parents again. There's no turning back. But this may be our only chance. We can't let fear stop us! I'm not afraid of the darkness!"

It had been little over a year since he walked down this road. Since he saw that house. Since he walked through that door. Only the last time he walked through it, it was to leave, knowing he might never come back.

He'd been stupid then. He didn't think of what the consequences of his actions, didn't think of the people he would be hurting. But he can make up for it. To his best friends, Sora and Kairi, who forgave him so easily. To his new friend, His Maje-No, to Mickey, who helped him so much when he thought the Darkness was going to consume him.

And most importantly, to…

"Oh honey! You're home early! Did you pick up the stuff I asked…for…" A woman with medium length silver hair, about as tall as Kairi, if not a few inches taller, walked out of the kitchen, cleaning her favourite china plate. Her voice trailed off when she saw it wasn't her husband that had walked through the door.

His mouth became very dry, his throat tightening to the point where he couldn't speak. He tried but only managed to make a strange sound. He tried again, this time clearing his throat.

"I'm…I'm home, Mother." he said.

He watched as her dark blue eyes filled with tears. She dropped the plate, ignoring it when it smashed against the hardwood floor, and ran towards him, embracing him tightly.

"Welcome home, my son!"
