Hello, lovers of imagination! Ooo...thats what I'm going to call you guys from now on! Anyway...All Rights Go to Rick Riordan. Female Percy. No copyright intended. Blah Blah Blah!!! Enjoy!

When we walked in I heard our English teacher say "You're late."

"Actually I have a good reason this time," said Penny.

"This time," I said chuckling.

"Shut up Wise Girl," said Penny.

"Wise Girl?" I asked raising my eyebrow.

"Yea. That's payback for calling me, Seaweed Brain," Penny said while smirking.

"First of all: It took you 15 minutes to think of that? Second of all: When I called you Seaweed Brain I meant it as an insult. How is Wise Girl and insult?" I said smoothly.

"First of all: Yes it did. As I mentioned before I'm slow. Second of all: Who said I meant it as an insult?" Penny said winking at me.

I blushed bright red.

"New student," I heard Penny say.

As she went to go sit down I heard our English teacher say "Why don't you introduce yourself."

"Hello. My name is Annabeth Chase. I'm originally from San Francisco but my dad got a job offer in New York. So here I am," I said lamely.

When I sat down he continued teaching us how to conjugate Latin verbs. As I was taking notes I looked over at Penny and saw her sound asleep. I don't blame you. After the bell rang I put my stuff in my backpack and went to go wake up Penny.

"Hey, Penny wake up," I said softly.

"I wasn't sleeping," said Penny.

"Well then what were you doing?" I asked.

"Don't worry about it," said Penny looking kind of down.

Penny got up, picked up her backpack and walked out the door. I soon followed suit and we walked to class together.

"What's our next class?" I asked.

"Music," Penny said while smiling.

"With the self-centered teacher?" I asked

"Yup that'll be it," Penny said chuckling.

"Can I ask you something?" I stated.

"Ask away," said Penny.

"Do you live with both of your parents?" I asked.

Her eyes got dark.

"No. Why do you ask?" Penny stated.

"When you gave me a tour of the school I noticed how you only talked about your dad but never your mom. I was just curious that's all," I said.

"What about you? Do you live with both of your parents?" Penny asked.

"Nope," I said.

"Looks like we got something in common," said Penny.

"I guess we do," I said while smiling at her.

She smiled back.

When we walked into music I was greeted by a mic in the front of the room, instruments behind it, and chairs in the back of the class.

"This classroom looks fun," I said

"You don't know the half of it," Penny said smiling.

We went to go sit down with the rest of the class as the teacher started to walk in.

"Wassup my students. You may know me as Mr. Sun but just call me Apollo," Said Apollo.

"So today we will-" Apollo froze when he saw me.

"It looks like we got a new face in the crowd. Care to introduce yourself?" said Apollo.

"My name is Annabeth Chase. I'm new, obviously, but that doesn't give you the right to pick on me. If you try to do so I will break your face," I said.

"Respect," said Penny.

"So today is not really a work day. You show me what you can do so I know what to grade you on. Deal?" Apollo asked.

"Deal," said the whole class.

"Annabeth since you are new you go first," Apollo said while bringing out his notebook.

"Umm...I know how to play the piano. Any request?" I asked.

"Please Don't Go by Joel Adams," said Thalia.

"Hey, Thalia. I didn't even know you were here," I said surprised to see Thalia.

"Thanks, Annabeth," Thalia said sarcastically.

"You are so very welcome," I said putting my hand on my heart.

"You know Thalia?" asked Penny.

"Yea. She bumped into me in the hallway this morning," I said chuckling.

Penny chuckled as well.

"Do you know her?" I asked.

"Yea. She's my cousin," Penny said.

"Small world. Do you have any other family members at this school?," I asked.

"I used to have a cousin, known as Death Breath. Sadly, he died a few years ago," Penny said looking sad.

"Quit telling everyone I'm dead!" yelled a guy in the back of the class.

The whole class laughed.

"Sometimes I can still hear his voice," said Penny still looking sad.

The class, including me, laughed even harder.

"Hey, kid," I said to the small Italian with the black clothes.

"Yea?" He asked.

"What's your actual name?" I asked.

"Nico di Angelo. Nice to meet you," said Nico as he extended his arm.

"Annabeth Chase," I said shaking his hand.

"Meet and Greet is over. Hurry up because I got a burrito in the teacher's lounge and I'm not trying to get it stolen," said.

"Sure thing, Lord Apollo," I said while saluting to him.

Apollo looked confused.

Penny snickered.

As I sat down and I started to play I then realized something. This song reminded me a lot of my mom. My dad always told me she left to pursue her dreams of becoming an Architect and I will always admire her for that. Always. I just wish that she would remember she is a mom and she has a child who hasn't seen her in 12 years. The truth is, I really didn't want her to go. Instead of crying like I normally would, because I'm in a classroom and not my actual room, I just put my emotions into the song. It actually helped. I've heard people use music as a stress relieving mechanism, but I never thought it would work. As I came to the end of the song, I look up and see that everyone's jaw had dropped. The whole classroom applauded my performance as I went to go sit down.

"Annabeth, that was...AWESOME!! Why didn't you tell me you could do that?!" Penny yelled.

"I didn't think it was relevant to the conversation we were having," I said.

"We were talking about this class. You could have made it relevant," Penny said.

"We were actually talking about Apollo, not the class itself," I pointed out.

"You still could have made it relevant Annabeth," said Penny.

"Whatever," I said defeated.

"Thalia, you're up next," said Apollo.

"I have always had a passion for music. When I turned about 12 years old I wanted to learn how to play the guitar. I followed suit and that is what I'm going to perform for you today," stated Thalia.

Thalia then walked over to the guitar and started to play it. I can't any more straight with you. There are no words in the dictionary, I would know, that can be able to describe how...how...see I told you! I was speechless. The way she played it was...it...I just...I really hate not knowing things! After that everyone applauded and congratulated her for playing the guitar so well. ( https/youtu.be/ATub40Npxik )

"Nico, get up here," said Apollo.

"My mom actually got me into playing the drums. She was in a band called "Empower Us." That's how she met my dad and had me. Love of music was passed down and here I am," said Nico.

The thing is when Nico played the drums he started off really easy with:

Snare Snare

Snare Snare

Cymbal

Snare Snare

Snare Snare

Cymbal

Then when it got to the point where people were thinking Is that all you're going to do? He then started doing snare but it got faster and louder as he did it. Which I personally really loved about that performance. Right when he did that he played a really complicated drum solo that made everyone awestruck! It was probably the most amazing drum solo I've ever heard. ( https/youtu.be/T0gl9LXq3LA )

The classroom applauded Nico for his amazing performance until Apollo called for everyone else to come show him what they could do. Some could dance, others could rap and they were all really good.

"Penny last one," said Apollo.

"Do I have to?" Penny whined.

"You do if you don't want to fail this class," said Apollo.

There were a lot of ''oooh's" and "Oh shoot's."

Penny glared at Apollo.

"Fine. I can sing. I know shocker. I heard my dad singing and one day I tried it out. I sounded ok for a 4-year-old but nothing that couldn't be improved. In fact, at the age of 10, I started to take vocal lessons and I still do. My voice has gotten better and this could be a chance to prove to you guys that I'm like anything you assumed last year," she said glaring at everyone in the room except for her cousins. What happened? This girl and her mysterious ways, I swear.

Penny then got out her laptop and started typing. After that, she got a guitar and asked Apollo to press play. ( https/youtu.be/5Slsb53eQ20 - Chloe Adams )

This is my heartbeat song and I'm gonna play it

Been so long I forgot how to turn it up up up up all night long

Oh up all night long

You, where the heck did you come from?

You're a different, different kind of fun

And I'm so used to feeling numb

Now, I got pins and needles on my tongue

Anticipating what's to come

Like a finger on a loaded gun

I can feel it rising

Temperature inside me

Haven't felt it for a lifetime

This is my heartbeat song and I'm gonna play it

Been so long I forgot how to turn it up up up up all night long

Oh up up all night long

This is my heartbeat song and I'm gonna play it

Turned it on

But I know you can take it up up up up all night long

Oh up up all night long (all night long)

I, I wasn't even gonna go out

But I never would have had a doubt

If I have known where I'd be now

Your hands on my hips

And my kiss on your lips

Oh, I could do this for a lifetime

This is my heartbeat song and I'm gonna play it

Been so long I forgot how to turn it up up up up all night long

Oh, up up all night long

This is my heartbeat song and I'm gonna play it

Turned it on

But I know you can take it up up up up all night long

Oh up up all night long

Until tonight I only dreamed about you

I can't believe I ever breathed without you

Baby, you make me feel alive and brand new

Bring it one more time, one more time

This is my heartbeat song and I'm gonna play it

Been so long I forgot how to turn it up up up up all night long

Yeah!

This is my heartbeat song and I'm gonna play it

Turned it on

But I know you can take it up up up up all night long

Oh up up all night long

This is my heartbeat song and I'm gonna play it

Been so long I forgot how to turn it up up up up all night long

Oh up up all night long

After she finished the song the classroom was silent then it erupted in cheers so loud, I'm pretty sure the whole school heard us.

"Penny I didn't know you could sing like that! Why didn't you say anything?" I asked happily.

"I didn't want to seem braggy," Penny said shyly.

"You have to do more of that!" I said.

Right as she was about to speak Apollo beat her to it.

"She will. Now that I know what to grade you on you will be assigned to a partner for the rest of the year. Your job will be writing a song about the topic that is chosen for you guys," said Apollo.

"But we don't know how to write songs," said Nico.

"Half of the people in the class know how to. In fact, the song that Penny sang was her own creation," said Apollo.

I looked at Penny with my hands on my hip and my eyebrow raised.

"What?! We've only known each other for like a day," said Penny.

After about 5 minutes Apollo then started to call out partners.

Thalia = Nico

Grover = Juniper

Silena = Charlie

Clarisse = Chris

Penny = Annabeth

"We'll start tomorrow. See ya later alligators!" said Apollo.
