Hello! This fanfic is 100% fictional and full of shipping! We will follow our main character Rin! As she discovers many things in the forest, but mostly finding love. All right of Inuyasha to the creators of the manga/anime.
She was so excited to get off of that damned ship once they arrived on the shore. She and her fellow research partners got into the small tugboat that headed inland with their main equipment. They were there to research the demons that inhabited the vast forest all around them. Kagome, Rin, and Songo jumped out of the tugboat with their backpacks and headed into the forest to set up their base camp, they had three guards there with them. Songo's little brother Kohaku, her lover Miroku, and a friend of Kohaku's Shippo.
"It's really dark in this part of the forest." Shippo tells group as he was the one who was most freaked out by everything that lived, breathed, and crawled.
"Oh Shippo, you are too funny, that's because of all of the tree branches at the top. They're filled with such lush green leaves for the wildlife around here." Kagome tells the frightened young man.
"I know that!" He retorts back at her trying his best to stay calm. Rin on the other hand was moving rather quickly to find a place for them to set up camp so she can start exploring the neighboring forest around them. "Rin slow down." Kohaku calls after her, Rin doesn't know it but he has had a huge crush on her for the longest he just didn't want to ruin their friendship by trying to take their relationship to the next step.
Rin ignored him as she pushed branches and leaves out of her way. Finally, she came to a clearing, and set down her backpack. "Ah!" She exclaims, stretching her arms. Although the trip from the river to this clearing did take them forty minutes to get to. "You found a good spot Rin." Kohaku tells her. The rest of the group made it to the clearing after they cleared down the branches and leaves from their path. Everyone set down their packs and stretched as well.
"Alright, the guys will set up the tents." Songo says as Miroku and Shippo start to pull the tents out of their backpacks. "The crew from the ship soon began to show up with the provisions they will need for their two month stay. "You would think that we will be staying here for a year for all the provisions and everything we had to bring with us." Kagome says, opening one of the crates.
"Kagome, you that's because we will be staying for a few months." Rin laughs at her dear older friend. All of the girls went to the same college and ended up studying the same thing 'Creaturism'. "I'm ready to get out into the forest and start exploring to find these demons." Rin says as Kohaku built her tent and she moved the flap aside and entered it to start setting up her cot.
The leader of the ship crew came to the center of their tents and called them around. "You know we will be back to get you in about two months. You should have enough provisions to last you. If you end up needing anymore, the boys do know how to hunt. You all have books on what is edible in this region. Hopefully, you do not end up running into anything bad as we won't be around to come and help you. We do hope you find what it is you are looking for and will see you in about two months." He tells them and leaves with the rest of the crew to head on their way.
In the forest lives several different demon groups. The dog demon live long lives and rule the forest. The wolf demons try very hard to be better than the dogs but lack certain qualities to over take them. The fox demons live happily amongst themselves not bothering anyone. The snake demons cause trouble with the rodent demon clans.
The two eldest brothers of the dog clan were out looking at what was going on in the clearing near the river. "Sesshomaru, what are they doing?" Inuyasha asks his elder brother. "Shut up, we need to talk to mother." Sesshomaru says moving his white hair off his shoulder. Heading back further into the forest Inuyasha following his half-brother back to their home.
As night fell upon the forest, the group of six could hear the forest come to life. Wolves howled off in the distance. The dogs barked, rodents squealed, yipped and squeaked. This excited five of the six. Shippo was shaking, holding the edges of his jacket tighter to his body. "They all sound really close… Are you sure that we are safe here?" He asks for the umpteenth time now.
"If your worried so much then why don't you take the tug boat and try to catch up to the ship?" Kohaku tells him. "Hey!" He tells at Kohaku. "That's not funny." He says as the rest of the group starts to laugh at him. Eventually the group all heads to their tents. Rin laid down on her cot and pulled her blanket over her as well as pulling the bug net around her bed. Her eyes close slowly.
During the night Rin had a hard time sleeping. Waking up she sat up and saw shadows under the dimly lit light from their campfire. The outline of two men, one with ankle length hair and one whose hair was down to the bottom of his bottom. The dim lighting still gave enough light for her to make out the lengths of their hair. She could tell they were men by the hoarseness in their voices.
"Shut up." One whispered and raised his hand to hit the other.
"Tell me what we are doing here, Sesshomaru!" The other one says.
'One's name is Sesshomaru?' Rin thought to herself as she slowly got up and moved as quickly as she possibly could to the edge of her tent and pulled back the flap ever so slightly trying to peek at the two mysterious men in the campsite. She saw two men with white hair. One having pointy ears on the top of his head. The other having pointy ears but naturally on the side of his face as if he were human. She went to turn around to grab her notebook and pencil to sketch the two men, she tripped over one trunks in her tent causing her to make a "Yelp!" as she hit the ground with a "Thud!" She covered her mouth with her hands hoping the two wouldn't come into her tent.
"Shit! Look at what your yelling did!" the one called Sesshomaru yells at the other man. "Time to go." Sesshomaru says running into the forest. Rin gets up and rushes out of her tent to try and get a look at the two but all she saw was branches and leaves swaying into the heart of the forest. Rin bends down grabbing her leg, she turns to head back inside her tent to look after her leg.
