Lapis' death
Destabilizing knives can kill gems.
Peridot is in a battle with Jasper in the middle of a desert on Earth. It is night, and Malachite finally broke it's fusion. Lapis was weak and injured, lying in the sand. Jasper had a destabilizing knife while Peridot had a gem destabilizer. It was a heated battle.
"You can't beat me!" Jasper yelled trying to kill Peridot. Peridot jumped into the air to dodge the attack, but Jasper grabbed her leg and threw her to the ground. Lapis saw that Jasper pinned Peridot and was about to kill her.
"Time to end you!"
"Peridot!" Lapis dived towards Peridot and tackled Jasper, getting stabbed in the process. Falling to the ground, Lapis felt a shocking pain through her abdomen. Peridot got up and shocked Jasper with the destabilizer, causing her to retreat into her gem. Dropping the destabilizer, Peridot ran to Lapis and picked her up. The green gem felt a liquid on her arms. It was blood, pouring everywhere. Lapis eyes wear hardly open.
"Lapis, can you hear me?"
Lapis slowly turned her head to a shocked and saddened Peridot. The green gem had tears in her eyes.
"I-I'm such an idiot. I tried to keep her fused. I failed Steven, I failed you..."
Lapis began to close her eyes.
"Lapis, n-no. You didn't fail him or me. Y-You didn't fail anyone." At this point, both gems had tears streaming down their faces. Peridot pulled Lapis in for a soft kiss. They shared a short kiss, tears covering both of their faces. The kiss cut short when Lapis started losing consciousness. Peridot opened her eyes and caught her head before it could crash on the sand.
"Lapis, I'll always love you. Even if our moments together are shortening, I never want to leave your side."
"I...I love...I love you, too...Peri...dot..."
Lapis eyes were closed, she lost all consciousness, and stopped breathing. Lapis Lazuli died in Peridot's arms. Peridot started to sob but stopped herself. She picked up Lapis' lifeless body and walked toward Jasper's gem and crushed it with all of her force.
