~ Chapter 1 ~
After winning the nationals the rest of the term passed as quick as a certain first year could say mada mada dane. Graduation was the last day where this team was officially a team. Right before the graduation ceremony Momoshiro has been appointed by Oishi to be vice captain and everyone thought Kaidoh would become captain. No one would have thought Echizen Ryoma would be named as Tezuka's follow-up. Ryoma himself just gaped at Tezuka when he announced his decision. Ever since then no one saw the prodigy.
"Oishi, tell me, did I do the wrong thing? I never thought he would react that way. What happens to the team when he doesn't appear on the first day of school? How should Momoshiro handle the team by himself?"
Oishi just put a hand on Tezuka's shoulder. The former captain instantly relaxed under this touch. Words were not needed between them. They were a team and whatever was going to happen, they would stick together and they would break through any obstacles.
"Don't forget he is a part of this team, Tezuka. He won't just leave it without a word. Just wait for his return. I'm sure he will be back for the school year and he will have a good reason for his disappearance."
Meanwhile in the US a young teen slept in on his desk and another tried to clean up mentioned desk without disturbing the sleeping boy. Carefully taking the open books, putting bookmarker into it and stowing them away, he couldn't help but smiled when he saw one of the notes:
"Forget it again and you have to drink Inui-Juice!"
Ryoma happened to wake up at this moment. "What are you smiling at Kev? And what are you doing with my books?" he said sleepily.
"You stubborn baka need to sleep! Don't you think it's better to charge batteries before going for the second round? Science is one of your best subjects, I don't think you need to put so much effort in it. I'm sure you are going to pass it and then you just need to pass English to skip over second year."
"Yudan sezu ni iko." Rubbing his eyes with his left, his right hand grabbed the book Kevin was holding.
The blond looked at him. "You know, when you came here I thought this is going to be fun. Having you around would certainly attract some girls – but when you told me you just came to take level courses... I should have known you changed."
"Kev, I didn't change." Ryoma had closed the book he started reading. "I've never been like you. I don't flirt with girls or go clubbing. I don't think love can be found through this way."
Taken aback by this seriousness Kevin couldn't stand but asked out of curiosity: "So which way do you think you can find love?"
He thought he must be dreaming when he saw that soft smile on his friend's face.
"Kev, promise me to keep it a secret. I think I've found the one I love."
