A/N: I'm so mean. But this just broke me up inside writing it.
Disclaimer: I don't own the Avengers and if I did this story would totally never happen.
There was a silence over the entire helicarrier. Not one person spoke as Director Nick Fury stood at his official spot. Even Tony Stark was quiet for once, which everyone was grateful for.
"He was a great man. One of our best agents. Only once did he not follow orders and that got us another good agent who is in our presence now. He served bravely on the Avengers team. He fought and was wounded even though his mind had just been taken over less than a day before. He was brave. He died defending our country from a man who wanted to wipe out the entire United States. Clint 'Hawkeye' Barton was well loved and will be very missed," Fury addressed the group. To everyone's surprise Natasha Romanoff was the first one to break down in tears. The Black Widow had broken. The bravest, strongest woman in the world had just lost her best friend, the man who saved her life. The man who changed her for the better. And she'd never forget it. Steve Rogers wrapped his arms around her and let his tears wash down his face slowly. Even Tony Stark, the genius billionaire playboy philanthropist, was crying. Pepper stood next to him holding his hand. Bruce Banner stood behind the rest of the Avengers letting tears slide down his face. Even Thor, the God of Thunder, had a few tears falling down his face.
Clint Barton was gone. Killed on a mission. And he'd be missed by every single one of them. He was one of them. He was a teammate, a friend, a mentor, a teacher, a prankster. But most of all he was loved. And that was what broke the Avengers.
A/N: shut up yes I'm crying too. Omg. Please review. Please. :'(
