Hello! It's me, Anne! I did promise I will be posting, right? Oh well, let me welcome you to this fanfiction of an AU that my friend and I collaborated. We actually went wild with this. Well... actually I am the one who got wild, hehe. But still anyway, this story will be an AU of The Gray Garden by mogeko. I really love the game, aaaaaaaah.

Oh yeah, some notes guys. The characters will be under a different name, so Hungary will not be Elizabeta and the like, but don't worry! I will put notes when someone new will be introduced (or appear). Plus, there will be 2Ptalia characters, but I will be mostly playing them around for story purposes. Never got enough energy to truly develop them, gah. Pardon me.

I hope you will have a good time reading this!

Notes:

Ild – Denmark

Frosse – Norway

Diávolo – Greece

Mizuko – Japan (they will be agender in this fic!)

Long, long ago, in a certain world, there were two groups who brought destruction unto each other. The ground was painted with blood, and the sky is black with a dash of red because of the fire. And everywhere, there is an angel or a demon, lie dead.

Don't they feel nothing? Why would they kill each other? Why must they fight because of their differences? The reason must be lost in time… and perhaps, the reason might not matter anymore.

Their conflict and destruction dragged on, on, on and on, continuing almost eternally.

Then, at the end of the war, the God and Devil, along with their demons and angels, decided to co-exist; to establish peace to their world together.

Some thought it was for naught. Others thought it would be for the best.

An era of peace reigned for a long, long time…

So did past a long period of time.

Under the clear sky, clouds decorating the vast space and birds flying as the sun shone down on the vast flower field near the cliff, an obnoxious laughter filled the air as a figure tumbles on the ground. He rolled around, his face littered with dirt, hair in disarray, a horn catching some the leaves, grass and flowers. He landed facing the sky, blue eyes sparkling with excitement, on the vast field of with arms spread on each sides, with a huge smile on his face. Blue skies, the sea roaring and crashing against the cliffs, birds squawking and chirping. He sighs, taking in the feeling. This was the peace he knows and loved. And he couldn't have it any other way. He stared at the sky, flung his head back and once more, laughed obnoxiously.

"Ild!" A voice called out. "Ild, where are you?!"

He immediately sat up and whipped his head left to right, finding the source of the voice. Where did that came from…? Then he saw another figure with feathered wings coming towards him and grinned. Oh, he was here already.

"Hey!" he called back, waving his arms. "Frosse, I'm here!"

The angel stopped on his tracks, his blue eyes gazing at him for a moment, and continued to approach him. He stood up unceremoniously, wobbling for a moment in dizziness and ran to him, the grass rustling on his feet. The angel slowly took one more step forward before he was face to face with the smiling demon. Even he was catching his breath, his smile was so wide that it could crack his face into two.

"I knew I would find you here." He shook his head, face crunching up into disapproval. "And look at you; so very messy."

The demon gave a small laugh, dusting off the dirt on his clothes, smiling a bit more if that were still possible. "Why are you looking for me?"

"Diávolo had made pie." He said, brushing the flower and leaves off on his head. "Apple pie. Your favourite."

"Apple pie?" His ears twitched, eyes widening, gleaming.

Frosse nodded, removing the leaf on the bonnet at the side of Ild's head. "And he asked me to get you."

"Yes!" He rose a fist in the air, jumping, making the angel back off from him in surprise. "Diávolo's infamous apple pie is done!"

Frosse stared at the demon. "…You know about it?"

Ild rose an eyebrow on him and cocked his head. "Duh. Why would I be here in the first place?"

The angel could only sigh deeply, rolling his eyes. Ild did not get it.

They have taken the only path towards to the village. It was a long road, a large path on splitting the forest into two, only flowers and butterflies, sometimes bees on the sidewalk. There was a large bare tree on one part of the way, with something stuck on it. Most of them say it's a sword, or what's remained of it. But no one was actually sure about it. There is also a path to the forest, but many, even the God and Devil themselves, warned that they could get lost on it, so no one really goes there.

In the middle of the way, Ild thinks happily on the apple pie that Diávolo made for them. It would be very crunchy… hell, it could be still steaming from cooking! While being sliced for seconds, it would crunch, an indicator that it was really well made. And the taste… His mouth started to water. Ah, he could already taste the pie's flavor. Lost on his thoughts, he failed to notice that there was a hole by his feet. His foot went through the opening, snapping back to reality.

"Wha-"

The rest of his sentence were lost as he fell into the hole. He felt the surroundings around him slowed down as he fell down towards the darkness.

A loud crash, stopping Frosse in his tracks. The angel looked back, blinking. He strode towards to the hole. Did he just fell down…? Raising his brow, he peered into it.

"Ild…?"

A piercing cry emitted from below, making him jump, step back and cover his ears. "Heeeey!" That was Ild. He actually fell down-! "Why there's a hole here?! I'm stuck! And hurt!"

"Shouldn't be that a problem with you? You are a demon, and you have wings. Use them, you idiot."

"But I'm scared on flying! I can't use them!" Oh. That. "Frosse! I'm bleeding here!"

"Alright! Alright!" Wings flapping irritably, he leaned closer to the opening. Ild was still shrieking down on the hole. He felt a vein pop on his forehead. He had second thoughts on if he should be helping him when he hears him again. God, this demon is beyond help. It would be more sensible to help him because he can actually calm him down and save him a headache because of his crying. Two birds in one stone. "I'll raise and heal you up. Now shut up!"

The grandfather clock hanging on the cream-colored wall keeps ticking monotonously, making its owners aware of their friends' tardiness. A demon tapped their hands on the polished wooden table, in rhythm with the grandfather's clock. An angel, donned in a simple yukata, sat silently beside them, staring at the door.

"I wonder if I made too much apple pie…" the demon murmured sleepily, glancing at the pie, seeing it was still steaming. Then he glanced at the pie on the plates, ready to be eaten. It would be troublesome if there will be leftovers. Not that he can't just heat it again tomorrow, but it would be better that all of the pie will be consumed today.

The angel just cocked their head, eyebrow raising, shuffling on their seat. The demon looked at them and smiled.

"You're right." A light laughter. He plops his head on his arm. "Ild has a huge appetite. This pie will be enough for us all."

A knock; small rapid ones, and as he raised his head, his front door opened, revealing a blank faced angel and a grinning demon.

"Heeey!" The demon waved at them, smiling brilliantly. "I'm here!"

Diávolo sat back comfortably on his chair, glad that his friends have finally come. "The pie is already done."

Ild gave a loud hoot and Diávolo noticed the scrapes and bits of blood on his features. "What's with the wounds, Ild?"

Ild had stared at the demon before having a double take with his question as Frosse huffed beside him, crossing his arms.

"He fell into a hole."

"Ehehehe…" he scratched the back of his head, looking embarrassed, ears twitching down. "I guess you could say that. He patched me up though!"

"I wonder if you ever get over with your habit on getting hurt…" He can't help but worry at the other demon. Trouble always come to him for some reason.

"It's not that I do it on purpose, Diá!"

Frosse sighed. "He's going to die first."

"Don't worry about me, Frosse. I'll be fine!"

Mizuko clapped their hands, silencing the both of them. They turned to Diávolo, who coughed, noting that he had to thank the angel later. "Won't you like to eat?" His hand motioned towards the plates which have a slice of pie.

The beaming face of the demon is enough for an answer.

"No, you are not going to eat that pie until you will wash your face and hands."

Frosse, that little killjoy.

Ild sighed happily as he leaned back to his chair. Delicious! Extraordinary! That was some good apple pie he ate! He should have expected it from his friend. He was quite sure he would not taste another pie better than his. He felt so giddy, he's so sure he could walk on the air!

Frosse looked at him with a blank face. "Where do you even get that appetite of yours…?"

He just grinned at him. Mizuko covered their mouth politely, shoulders shaking a bit. Diávolo cocked his head and rose a brow.

"Is it me, or are you getting fat, Ild?"

"Whaaat?" Ild looked at his stomach, squishing it with his hands. It doesn't feel really squishy. What are they saying…?! "No I am not!"

"Perhaps you are getting fat, with that tremendous appetite of yours." Diávolo smiled, amused at his friend's reaction. Mizuko covered their mouth with their sleeves, eyes tightly shut as their body trembled with laughter.

"No I am not!" He huffed irritably. They are being ridiculous! Meanies!

"I agree with him." Frosse, that traitor! Ild turned and looked at him in horror. "I don't even see you exercise anymore."

"Then I'll go back exercising then!" He crossed his arms, head up high, smiling proudly. Then his smile faltered slightly, looking embarrassed. "But ah, I still eat though!"

"No one said you should not…"

The demon laughed, his voice ringing throughout Diávolo's house.

End Chapter 01.

Ild: And thus, this is a happy story of demons and angels living in harmony!

Frosse: Who are talking to?

Ild: Don't worry about it, Frosse!

Sorry it's short guys, and yes, I'm planning to cut it like in the game, where the characters will go breaking the 4th floor (mostly Yosafire, I think? It has been long when I seen the game... I still have to play the game myself, but alas, classes.) as the end of chapter. So... chapter 2 is long in a way. /weeps

Don't worry guys, I am actually making the 2nd Chapter of this fic, and it's half way done!

Reviews are always appreciated!
