Prologue
I remember my old life a little, I remember being in love, even though I try my best to shield out those happy memories. I was engaged to a man from the new world, who had power and riches. Everything I spoiled person would need.
The day of my wedding was the day it happened it's amazing how everything was so perfect then it turned to ruins.
I rushed around the chapel, making sure everything every little detail was perfect for our wedding day. I couldn't wait to get married, I finally spotted my future husband Christopher in the gazebo I couldn't wait anymore I ran up to him.
"Christopher!" I called to him as I ran to him.
"Mary?" he said "what are doing? We can't see each other, its bad luck, remember?"
"I know" I said kissing his cheek softly "I just couldn't wait."
"Aww, that's sweet" he said.
"Yeah" I sighed dreamily, looking into his eyes.
"Well, I've got guests to greet and you better go get in your dress" he said.
"Alright" I said still looking in his eyes as I waked away.
I walked into the dressing room were my bridesmaids and flower girls were waiting for me. My mother Constance took one look at me and moaned.
"Mary, why are you late?" she asked.
"I just wanted to do one finally check" I said.
"Well, that's the staff's job" she told me.
"Oh" I said, never being one to argue.
"I have to leave for a minute" she said "but your bridesmaids will help you get ready."
"Alright" I said.
As she left my bridesmaids started to do my makeup and get me in my dress, by the time they were done I looked amazing. They did a great job as always. Then I remembered I forgot to give Christopher my wedding gift to him.
I dashed out of the dressing room, Christopher said he was greeting guests, I ran to the front of the chapel where the guests were coming in. I saw Christopher hugging mother, but as they turned I realized they were kissing, and not just a friendly peck of a kiss. They were making out, Christopher was making out with my mother!
At that moment I could actually feel my heart grow more and more painful and fill with sorrow. I ran away from the chapel in my dress and went home and packed my bags and left, not even looking back at the house I had grew up in.
I went to the docks and boarded ship that was headed for England. I was going to start a new life there. And as I boarded that ship, a new girl was born and her name was not Mary Watson.
Her name was Jessica. Jessica nightly.
