SHOW OF APPRECIATION

Another one-shot that belongs to my DiNozzo Files reality. Belongs to Donald P. Bellisario.

After getting directions, Tony walked down to the Cyber Division and began walking down the hall.

"Can I help you?" a man asked.

"Yeah, I'm looking for…McGee…I think his name is," Tony responded.

"I'll talk you to his station," the man told him and did so. "McGee. Visitor," he announced. Surprised, the younger man looked up.

"A-agent DiNozzo, wh-what can I do for you?" he stammered. Crap. What is he doing here? Did I do something? he wondered. He didn't think he had, but he couldn't be sure. Hopefully, Agent Gibbs wasn't pissed at him. But then again, Agent DiNozzo didn't seem to be very mad, so maybe it wasn't too bad.

"Deep breaths, McGee," Tony soothed, giving him a smile. "Brought you something," he said, holding the bag up.

"You brought me food?" the other man asked in surprise. Why would he do that? I'm nobody important and he doesn't even know me, he thought to himself.

"A little thank you for the work you did for us during that case with the imposter on the submarine," the agent answered, handing him the bag. "It's only a plain one, sorry. I just wasn't sure if you were allergic to anything and-"

"No, it's-it's fine. It's—it's very thoughtful, Sir," he told her.

"Tony is fine." McGee smiled at him.

"Thank you again."

"Yup." McGee watched Tony leave and then smiled to himself as he took the doughnut, placed it on a napkin, took a bite, and then went back to work.
