Running

chapter

I

Blood pumping through her brain. Just these few words were going through her mind, 'This is it. I can`t go much farther. They`re gunna get me, hurt me just for entertainment, then kill me. This is it.' She jumped from one roof to the next. Still running, out of breath she grabbed the small knife from her wrist band and turned around. "If this is it, I`m not going down without a fight."

She waited for her attackers to get closer, but as she stood there, her vision slowly but surely became more and more blurry. Probably either from the loss of blood, the continual pounding in the head or the thought that she knew she was going to be taken down.

Then she saw them turn the corner. They were right there, about to shoot at her with full blast.

These creators were like nothing she had ever seen before. Their eyes were filled with a coldness she had never faced before and there robotic bodies joints made just the most ever so slightly squeaking noise that no doubt only she could hear.

As they got closer, she suddenly dropped her knife. Blood was running down her arm and onto her hand from where she had been shot in the shoulder earlier. She collapsed onto the hard, cold gravel roof floor. As she fell, it felt like everything was thrown back in slow motion. She hit her head on the ground hard enough to knock herself unconcussion. For some miraculous reason, she didn`t get knocked out right away. She stayed awake long enough to hear something she didn`t expect. There was a strong voice that yelled some word she had never heard before. It went along the lines of, 'Booyacasha'?

In her last few moments of consciousness, she wondered, 'Who the hell was that?'. By this time, she was almost completely blinded by pain and silent tears, but from what little she could see, there were at least two blobs. The blobs were running toward the robots. Now there were three because one was right in her face. They were yelling at each other and what little she could make out was something along the lines of, "Leo, we need to bring her! She`ll never survive without our help!", and "Don! Kinda busy right now! Fight now, decisions making later!" The argument continued. "But she doesn`t have time for 'later'!". The argument still continued. "She is a H-U-M-A-N. We can`t bring her back with us! That would go against everything we were brought up to do! Sensei would kill us!" "Not unless these guys kill us first!" Said another voice. "I`m being serious, Raph!" "So am I, Leo! If we don`t get her out of here now, she`s going to die from blood loss! Leo please let me help her."

There was a load 'clang' noise, like the sound of metal on metal then a long pause. "...Donnie, you do realise that if we took her back, she would be your full responsibility, right?" "Yes, yes I know!", the nurse said in a rushed voice. "...Okay. She can come."

Then she butted in saying, "W-who are you? I`m not going with anywhe..." Then her head dropped in the mysterious nurses lap and everything went black.
