"Oh Doctor!" River chuckled watching him jump once more with the aid of her vortex manipulator.
"Quite a simple trick" he appeared next to her suddenly before vanishing again in a flash. He appeared a few metres away, "Without all the... Blurry stuff" he added.
The pair had stopped in Cardiff to refuel the Tardis. The Doctor had insisted that they challenge the latest genetic mutation which allowed the sufferers to jump by means of rapid teleport to any
destination they pictured in their minds.
"You don't need a special gene to jump," he continued before jumping a few more times, "Even ordinary humans can jump ... With a bit of help of course... It wouldn't be fair for them to not experience it"

He appeared in front of her suddenly. Grinning from ear to ear. He pushed his hair back from his face. Taking her hand he rubbed his thumb over the 'Midnight' diamond ring she wore.
"Was it worth it?" he asked. Gently she took her hand back and examined the ring yet again with the broadest smile she'd ever worn.
"Always," she replied quietly. The Doctor smiled knowingly at her before jumping once more.
He'd aimed for the top of the Tardis, presumably a safe place to jump to. He doubted any Jumpers had ever seen a police box like this, plus of course it was the complete wrong century for them.
How wrong he was...
They collided at alarming speed. The thunderous roar was deafening, River toppled backwards over the wall she was perched on. The harsh breeze created ripped at the pages of her diary sending it flying over her head. Gripping the wall tightly she peered over it towards the Tardis. The black smokey cloud around it began to clear. Two dark shadows were slumped against the base of the time machine. The bow tie was unmistakable...
