He gazed at her; she looked so stunning, so beautiful holding her staff as if it were her last lifeline to sanity.
However, his father was correct; she had no right to fight, she was a woman and how he wished to claim her as his own. His family would never allow him though, unless she gave up this silly nonsense, a Knight? Really what was she thinking? The sooner he removed the silly idea from her head the better. Then he could court her, claim her, posses her. She would be his and only his.
He struck forward striking her firmly as the other boys moved in to form a human shied blocking her lesson from view. She blocked, she was fast and good with a staff, maybe he would allow her to join the Queen's ladies in waiting. She attacked, she was feisty, a spirit to enjoy suppressing.
The battle was over all too soon though, cut short by the bark of the training master. She stared at him, defiant, it seemed he would have to find other ways to make her see sense and to posses her for his own.
A.N. For those who may not have figured it out this is Joren/Kel in his POV. It is the day of staff training in 'First Test' when Joren tries to beat Kel up and she uses Yamani tricks to stop him. I'm not entirely sure I got the fight correct but I has been a while since I read the books and mine are on loan at the moment. Not my best work but my first Tamora fic and done in 10 mins so cut some slack.
