Sam jammed his hand into the crack in the rock and pulled himself up another few feet, ignoring the sweep of the ground far below him.

His feet found an imperfection in the rock and he rested there for a few seconds, breathing.

Not far below him, the creature roared.

Sam didn't look down. He reached up, found another crack, slid his fingers into it and pulled himself up another foot.

"Sam!" Dean yelled from above. "Don't move!"

Sam froze. He didn't move, not even when he felt the monster's breath on his bare feet.

Dean took careful aim, and fired.
