This would not have been possible without Kathryne Buzolic! I really could not have done it without her!

Reviews are pie and Dean loves pie, Therefore, please review!

Enjoy!

Sam watches as Gabriel shifts in the ring of fire. Dean calls Gabriel a coward and begans to walk off, Castiel following close behind. Sam has never seen the trickster look so serious. It's alot different from the smirk that he usually has on his face. Taking one look back, Sam turns and follows Dean and Cas out of the door.

When Gabriel shows up a week later and starts helping, walking around the motel room like he owns it and eating countless lollipops, no one says anything. Sam thinks that he should thank him, but he doesn't know how to do it without the conversation becoming awkward, so he just doesn't say anything. Sam can't help but notice that the lollipops are always red.

Another week passes and Gabriel is still his annoying self. He's pulling harmless pranks and Dean probally would have done kicked his ass if he didn't hand them small hints for their latest hunts. Sam sighs wearily as he checks his shampoo to make sure that there's no nair in it. Even though it has been done once already, it doesn't hurt to check.

Finally, Sam had to say something. Dean was out, having gotten fed up with Gabriel's antics. Sam approached him with some caution, not sure what to expect.

Gabriel looked up from unwrapping what had to be his six hundredth lollipop. He raised an eyebrow and sat up slightly. "What's up, Sammy?" he asked, irritating Sam slightly. Only Dean could call him that.

He cleared his throat and tried to come up with the right words. "I just wanted to say...Thanks. For helping us. It really...Helps." he said lamely. Gabriel chuckled.

"Well, I'm glad my helping is helpful." he replied, clearly amused.

Sam frowned at him. "Why are you helping us" Two weeks ago you said you didn't care who won, you just wanted it to be over. What changed your mind?"

Gabriel sighed, all signs of amusement gone. "Do we really have to talk about this?" he asked.

Sam nodded. "Yeah, I think we do." he said, crossing his arms.

Gabriel sat up all the way and gave him a look similar to the one Castiel frequently gave Dean when he was being stubborn. "Fine, if you absolutely want to know...I want the right side to win, okay? Lucifer's my brother, sure, but come on, the greater half of my family is fighting to beat him. If Lucifer wins, my little corner of the world- which I spent years on, I might add- will be taken over by his demons."

Sam's brows furrowed."You told us to play our roles. I say yes to Lucifer, Dean says yes to Michael. Where in this little movie do you fit?" he asked.

Gabriel looked up at him. "Maybe I'm the referee. You know, call them out when they're playing nasty."

Sam shook his head and uncrossed his arms, turning his back on the archangel. Gabriel sighed again and Sam heard him get up. "I don't know how I fit in. Maybe I'm just the halftime entertainment. Maybe I'll go down fighting, or watching quietly from the sidelines. But this is the end of the world. I should at least put in a little effort, don't you think?"

The next chapter will be here soon :)
