Soccer
It was a day of celebration and happiness. Eight year old Taichi Yagami's father had just been promoted. Now, their family could finally install the beautiful window Mrs. Yagami had always wanted. Made of frosted glass, with a lovely frosted glass rose in the center, this window was definitely expensive.
After the workers had finished installing it in the 2nd story living room, which overlooked the backyard, the party began. Mr. Yagami shooed his son outside to play soccer with his best friend, Sora Takenouchi, while her parents admired the new addition to the Yagami mansion.
The two 3rd graders happily practiced passing, but for Taichi (Tai), it wasn't enough. Although his parents had forbidden him to practice this certain move anywhere near a house, he was immensely proud of his skills.
Tai declared, "STAND BACK, SORA!!"
Guessing correctly, Sora cried, "NO TAI!"
But it was too late. Tai held the ball out in front of him and drop-kicked it. The two children watched as the ball flew in a blur of black and white. It was as if there was a magnetic force pulling it towards the mansion. In fact, a certain area of the mansion.
There was a sound like a thousand wine cups shattering, followed by several screams. A moment later, a furious Mr. Yagami thrust his head out a gaping hole in the 2nd story of the mansion and yelled, "TAICHI YAGAMI!!! GET IN HERE NOW!!!!!!!"
The little boy and his best friend reluctantly made their way into the big house, and shuffled up the stairs. On the expensive Persian rug was a mess of shattered crystals. All that remained of the once beautiful window.
