Living in the TARDIS with the Doctor wasn't always easy. Many times Rose came across some pretty strange things lying around in many of the multiple rooms that the TARDIS offered. On one particular occasion, while waiting for the Doctor to finish fixing some odd piece of the console that he inevitably broke, she came across a strange dark room. After tripping over a lump on the floor while entering the room, she crawled to the nearest wall and felt around until a light switch was found. A small lamp stationed on a tiny nightstand flickered on, revealing another door at the other end of the small room. The door appeared older that time itself, with many knots in the wood and an ancient metal handle, seemingly gold in the past, now tainted by age and dust. Rose cautiously made her way to the door. As eerie as it appeared, she felt strange warmth radiating from behind the door. Her hand gravitated towards the door handle, resting on it nervously but turning it all the same. It swung open rapidly, revealing the most beautiful library Rose had ever seen before, completely lit by a multitude of fireplaces stationed evenly in each visible corner of the library. Rose was speechless. It was if every word she knew was stolen by the books. The Doctor then appeared behind her, with a disappointed look on his face.
"Oh Rose you weren't supposed to find this! Not yet at least." He exclaimed.
"What... what is this place?" she stammered.
"I had the TARDIS make this for you. This room is for you Rose. You told me that when you were young that your favorite story was Beauty and the Beast. I wanted to recreate the library that the Beast Gave to Belle for you for your birthday."
"Oh Doctor!" She said, smiling, "It's perfect. You're perfect. Better than any Beast or Prince in any fairy tale I've ever heard." Rose then turned to him and gave him the biggest hug he had ever received in all his 9 regenerations. "Thank you Doctor." She whispered.
The Doctor later returned to the library to find Rose asleep in one of the chairs surrounding a fireplace. On her lap was a copy of Beauty and the Beast, on her face was a small smile. He knew he had done well. He had never seen her so happy, even taking her to far off planets hadn't made her look this happy. He then proceeded to cover her with a nearby blanket and while leaving the library he looked back and whispered, "Goodnight my princess."
