Ninjago 200 years ago: The kingdom is prosperous and the citizens are happy because they are under the rule of the kind King Ambrose. The two unhappiest people are the King's son, Aaron, who is tired of women pretending to love him and the wealthy merchant's daughter, Helen, who just wants someone to love her for herself, not for her father's fortune. These two are soon to meet and fall in love, but can they overcome what fate has in store? Let us find out.

"Tonight is the big night, Prince Aaron," said his best friend and personal squire, Theo. "Aren't you excited?" Aaron just sighs. "No I am not happy Theo. The reason my father is having this ball is to try and get me to marry a woman of nobility. How can I be excited when I know that none of those women love me and that they each just want to become queen when I inherit the crown? All I wish for is a woman who will love me for who I am and always be with me".

"I understand your desire Aaron, but maybe one of the noble women who will be at the ball will be the woman you dream of and you just have to give each of them a chance to prove herself to be that woman." "I doubt it, but thanks for the talk Theo. Excuse me while I go get some air. Don't worry, I will be back in time for the ball," Aaron said as he left the room.

He leaves on his horse to the woods to think. Meanwhile in the city outside the palace, one certain girl is not too happy either. She had just turned away another suitor asking for her hand in marriage. And her father was not too happy about it.

"Helen! That was the fifth man this month you turned down! You are at the age you should think of getting married, but you never will if you keep turning your suitors down!" Helen speaks to her father calmly, "Father, I want to get married. I just don't want to marry any of those men because I know they don't love me, they just want to get their hands on the family fortune. All I wish for is a man who will always love me and stay by my side." Her father calms down, "Helen I understand your wish, but you will never find that man unless you give some of the suitors a chance." "I need to be alone to think father, I will be back don't worry". She too leaves on her horse for the woods in order to think. As it so happens, they arrive at the same time. Aaron sits on one side of a patch of trees and Helen sits on the other side, both not knowing the other is right there. As they both sit and ponder, they both silently make the same wish "I wish for someone I can love and will love me back." Suddenly, Helen looks to her left and sees an injured looking rabbit in the middle of a dirt road. She goes over to it and the rabbit turns out to be fine and hops away. Just as she is about to leave, her foot gets stuck in a hole that she can't get it out of and a horse drawn carriage is rushing towards her. She screams and then braces for impact.
