Really, it was one thing to run a blog dedicated to your favorite superhero, and a whole other thing to fall in love with said superhero's partner. Alya sighed as she stared down at fanwork that she wouldn't submit to the Blog for the whole sake of it being a little embarrasing for Cat Noir, possibly, maybe, but it could be that she really didn't want to share the artwork with the world even though that ear was out of place as Cat's ear never looked like that in an Akuma fight, not at that angle anyway. Plus, Cat Noir's eyes were always a little more on the playful side, not the devious, but man, had they drawn a shirtless Cat Noir well.
Alya's face went red, and she bit her tongue to avoid cursing at her tendency to get caught up with the superheroes in a very partial way. It felt messed up that she wanted Ladybug to be her best friend, take her around Paris on a guided, superhero tour, and yet wanted to makeout with Cat Noir in the back of a crowded movie theater while some cliche, nineties romance flick played in the background. She's not even sure where all these feelings came from; it's like they happened overnight.
Alya is the LadyBlogger, not Cat Noir's self-proclaimed, 'biggest fan' with eyes that should be a little less perceptive. Just how, was she not supposed to stare and accidentally ogle, when anything Cat Noir or Ladybug related, she was on the scene with a phone in hand, ready to capture all of the exciting details of an Akuma fight. Working beside Cat Noir once or twice as Rena Rouge certainly couldn't have made her suddenly fall head over heels for the male superhero, but she'd felt the need to distance herself emotionally from him, like he was less exciting to work beside than to record.
Why was it that he suddenly became so captivating when he shouldn't be? And all those theories about the zipper on his suit weren't really helping. Some said that it worked, and some said that it didn't. Alya just wanted to press close and know what it was like to be in Cat Noir's arms, kissing him, and not just wondering why he had to look so tantalizing shirtless in fanart, and yet had no chance of seeing him just as tantalizing in real life.
She was just the LadyBlogger, a relatively normal civilian that went everywhere she could with Cat Noir and Ladybug, always after a good or thought provoking story, chasing down interesting leads from their patrol routes to their latest Akuma battle.
Alya Cesaire wasn't allowed to fall for him, but fall she did. Man, what would it be like to kiss him, to just lean in and meet wonder and curiosity with reality.
