eyes aglow in the shade of moonlight,
he always believed he would fly one day,
just not without wings and a jet plane
in the sky.

feeling like the superheroes on screen,
but doubtful he could ever save anyone
as most are scared of ghosts.

they would reject his help;
make him out to be the villain,
when he was anything but a hero.

the boy with the glowing green eyes,
he would never believe in himself,
but he fully had the others faith.

a sister and two friends, their faith
bottled in jars, just like the fireflies they
caught on warm summer nights,
laughter alight in the park.

the sound could make up for the absence
in faith he felt; their laughter would
take him higher than he could ever fly.
