One July, back when Percy, Annabeth and Grover were young, they had to go on an emergency quest somewhere. They were fighting monsters all the time, attacked around the clock.

On the 5th day, they came to a small village by the coast. Percy saw a shop and said he'd go buy some supplies while Grover and Annabeth found somewhere to rest.

Once they had found a stop point under the shelter of a rock, Annabeth told Grover she was just going for a walk on her own and wouldn't be long.

She didn't walk far, just down to the beach, where all she could hear was the soft lapse of the waves against the yellow sand. The water reminded her of someone, so she looked out towards it and embraced the gentle wind.

5 minutes had passed before she heard light footsteps behind her. She didn't look until he came beside her, she knew who it was.

"Percy."

He looked at her. His arms extended out towards her, a small object in his palms. It was a cupcake, with an "A" sketched into the icing.

"Happy Birthday, Annabeth," he said to her.

Annabeth was surprised, "I didn't think you knew! Thank you."

"Of course I knew! Best Friends never forget."

"Oh, thank you, Percy!" She gave him a warm hug, careful not to squish the cake.

"It's not much, but small village, small shop, small supply, small cake," Annabeth chuckled and muttered her thanks again.

After the cake was devoured, they walked back to Grover along the waterline. As they were nearly about to go back up, a splash of water hit Annabeth. Then Another. She turned to see Percy wearing a mischievous grin on his face.

Another salty spray hit Annabeth and Percy ran, laughing.

"SEAWEED BRAIN! GET BACK HERE RIGHT NOW!"
