OK, I usually write these sad pathetic stories that make people cry, but here is a cheese-fest. Dedicated to you Scarlett Jaime!

She stared at the small piece of paper in her slim fingers, clutching it so tightly that the edges were curling to match the contours of the hands that held it. The telegram that she had received yesterday evening. The words were simple. HOME TOMORROW STOP ARRIVE NOON STOP RHETT

He was coming home. Logically she knew that it meant nothing, that there was no promise there. But she could not help but hope, she could not help but fan that dancing glimmer in her eyes. Just to be near him, just to see him, surely he would remember their love. And as she sat absolutely still within the confines of the closed carriage waiting for the train to arrive.

She was much too nervous to willingly leave the carriage. Pork would direct him in her direction, and she still didn't know what she would say. But the chance to ponder over her was gone much sooner than she expected, as Rhett climbed agilely into the carriage looking well and fit and happy. He looked at her expectantly, but her mouth did not move.

"Did you really mean what you said?" He finally asked.

She dumbly nodded her head, too afraid that somehow by speaking she would disrupt this wonderful daydream she was having.

"Do you really love me?" He prodded.

Again she nodded.

"Then I am coming home, and we are going to make this work. I shouldn't have left you like I did, I should have realized that we were both grieving, but thats all over now. I'm home."

Tears coursed down her cheeks as he knelt on the floor of the carriage in front of her. "Will you marry me again?"

She nodded once more even as his lips captured hers in a kiss that was salty from all of the tears. "I wasn't fair to you. I wasn't fair to myself, and now we finally have the chance at happiness."

She pulled away for a moment to look into his eyes. "What changed?" She finally asked, when she saw the love that was reflected there.

"I don't know. There was nothing spectacular, nothing particularly memorable, but suddenly I knew that I couldn't go on without you. And so I came. And I am telling you what I should have told you during the war." He paused to take a deep breath, "I love you, Scarlett O'Hara. I love only you."

"You are certain. You aren't going to change your mind?" She asked, echoing th same questions that he had once asked of her.

"No. You have me for life. I'm never leaving. I'm not letting our mistakes get in the way again. Neither will I let you push me aside. I am completely in for the rest of my life."

She surrendered to his kisses as they finished the ride back to their home, surrendered until he chuckled and pulled away. "I always hope to find that tigress inside of you. Now let's get out of this cramped carriage. I think it is high time that you invite me in to your sanctuary."

"Please follow me." She told him simply as she led him into the house.

She started up the stairs, but instead he swept her up in his arms, taking them two at a time. "Do you believe in happy endings?" He quizzed.

"You're here now, aren't you. That's all the happiness that I need."

Rhett carried her into their room and shut the door to the world outside of the four walls of their home. No storm would come between them again. They would find a way to live happily ever after. The End.
