Random idea that popped into my head. Written with help of RhymeZone. Otherwise it may have ended after the fourth line.
Twas the night they call New Year's and all through the camp
Not a creature was sleeping, not even a lamp.
The fireworks were set by the beach tide with care
In hopes that Hephaestus kids soon would be there.
The campers were all nestled in the amphitheater
With nary a mention of Luke, 'member that traitor?
Katie in her PJs and I in my pants
Were settling down in the theater with plants
When out in the woods, there arose such a clatter
Connor and I raced to see what was the matter.
Away to the woods, I sprinted with glee.
Kate was sure to be impressed, and Connor'll agree.
The lights from the campfire lit up my way
The woods shone, bright as day!
And who, to my disbelieving eyes should appear?
But a glowing chariot with two dainty, gold deer!
With such a young driver, no more than just ten
I knew it was Artemis! Would she make me a wren?
More rapid than I was, her deer answered by name:
"Come Gypsy Rosalie and Shirley MacLaine!
Now let's go, before the men all find me!"
But the deer just answered, "Sorry, my hoof hit a tree!
I can't fly with it broken, that's not okay.
You should just leave us and fly far away!"
Artemis sighed, and beckoned to me
"I seem to be stuck; will you be my trainee?
You just need to bring stuff for us both to live.
Start with ambrosia, and to you a gift I will give.
"Lady Artemis," I cried. "But wait-I'm a dude!"
She sighed and looked at me. "Don't be so rude.
I need your help, so are you helping or not?"
I nodded. "Okay, I'll bring you a lot."
I began to bring her all of this stuff.
Most of it I stole, but hey-I got enough.
Shirley healed with time and a salve
Which I got by being all suave.
Soon they were ready to leave and head off
I waved goodbye from the top of a bluff.
Katie confronted me soon after she left.
"Hey," I said. "Watch this theft!"
I stole the camp store's antitheft alarm
She watched me in all of my charm.
I explained the thing with Artemis and the deer.
She didn't believe me, I started to fear.
Good thing she did, or else it'd be bad
Also, amazingly, Kate didn't get mad!
This was the gift I was promised, oh my!
Artemis was helping my crush, it wasn't awry!
Thank you dear Artemis, here's a sacrifice to you
Come visit me next time you pass through!
