First time writing in this fandom. My friend got me to watch Animated and I absolutely fell in love with it, and Bumblebee too. I also well in love with this friendship, so I'm glad I get to introduce myself with something involving it. While this is intended for Animated, I guess you could look at the concept in this for any number of universes, if I understand Bee's whole guardian thing. (Forgive me. My only other experience with this franchise is Beast Wars so many years ago for like, 5 episodes. I know nothing.) So, enjoy! Please review, and be honest! Oh, BTW, please try not to discuss anything beyond episode 5 (The Meltdown) in your reviews. I'm still trying to catch up, and I'm trying to avoid spoilers, so I would appreciate that. Thank you.

Disclaimer: Transformers: Animated is owned by Cartoon Network, some awesome writer guy, and those awesome animators who also brought us that show with the robot monkeys (any fans in here BTW?) I am none of the above. I am merely a fan doing a labor of love.

There was only so much he could take of the short jokes.

He was sick of being the small fry. It drove him nuts. Everybody knew it drove him nuts. Of course, being called short wouldn't be half as bad if it wasn't true. He was half the size of some of his friends even, and with the rest he was still at least a foot shorter. Well, except for Sari.

Sari, the one person he was friends with that was smaller and younger than he was. The thought made him smile. That may have seemed silly. Of course she was shorter. She was a human. Still, he didn't really care. She was still smaller. That was what mattered. When she came over and hung out with him, he felt better about himself. That may sound selfish, but Bumblebee didn't look at is as a "somebody is even worse off than you" situation. That wasn't even close to his mindset.

His mindset was that as a smaller creature, she was somebody he could protect. Somebody he could stand up for. Somebody he could help grow. Somebody he could comfort with his presence.

For once in his life, Bumblebee got to be an older brother to somebody.

He liked that. He really did.
