In general, Castiel didn't often dwell on the fact that he was an angel, not a human. Generally, he liked it.
But lately, he'd been spending far too much time on Earth. Observing humans at such close quarters only highlighted the difference between them, the things Castiel couldn't have.
Although he was wearing a human body, he still couldn't feel things like humans did. Everything was muted, like being numb.
Of course, there were certain nuisances he didn't regret missing, but there were other things that he felt would be worth it, like the gentle brush of skin on skin.
