Something that came to mind. Hope everyone enjoys.

When you're eighteen you fall in love, and it takes Aleksander three months to get into your pants. He tells you he loves you, kisses you sweetly, and nine months later he's being hanged and you're running from Bulgaria.

It's okay though, you tell yourself. You'll be okay.

The second time you fall in love, he's charming and magnificent, and he's Niklaus, a lord, and he's got a crush on you, too.

You go for walks around the garden, and he buys you expensive jewellery, and you forget about the baby you were forced to leave and the home you fled from.

But one night you're getting a kiss on the cheek, and sharp, unforgiving teeth bite into your neck. You shriek and scream and succumb.

You stop loving him as quickly as you can.

Elijah is beautiful, and he's Niklaus' brother. He's kind, brilliant, and he listens, which you find comforting. He tells you he loves you later in the year, just before your twentieth birthday. You find out Niklaus wants to kill you.

You flee before you have the chance to realize you might have loved Elijah, too.

When you reach home, mama and papa and little sister are murdered, and you hope Elijah didn't help his brother.

America is unforgiving to travellers like you, so you change your name to Katherine Pierce in hopes that nobody finds you, and you drink any and everyone's blood from New York to Florida. And that's where you meet lucky number four.

David whisks you off your feet, and shows you more kindness and generosity than any man ever has before. And before long, you forget you're a vampire.

This inevitably turns out bad for David.

You're starving, and he's there, and he's making food and he cuts his finger and you're so sorry.

For a little while, you like Pearl. You like the way she talks, the way she moves, the way she's so sure of herself.

But that's…sinful? Nevertheless, you kiss Pearl, and she reveals a daughter, Anna.

Kids are not your strong point.

Stefan Salvatore is everything the others weren't. He's a family man, and he likes to share. Which Katherine is extremely pleased about. He kisses you in a way you've never been kissed before, and he touches you like you're the last bottle of Scotch. You love him.

It's a shame you have to trick him like this, but he has no idea what your blood will do to him. Not yet, at least.

(7)

You could love Damon if you tried. But you're done trying with people.

(8)

You decide after Stefan tells you that you're nothing to him, that love is cliché and that you don't need it.

(doesn't mean you don't want it though.)
