Toby sat at his desk, spinning around in his chair. He and the rest of Scorpion had just finished a mission earlier that day. He watched Happy as she reconstructed a motorcycle engine, her most favorite thing to do. He admired her: from her personality to her attitude. As he spun, he noticed that her hair was tied up into a ponytail. It wasn't usual that that would happen.
"Won't you, uh, get sick from that?" Sylvester spoke up, watching Toby spinning. "Relax Sly, only a few more spins." Toby retorted, stopping himself from spinning. He stood up , "See? I'm perfectly fine." He murmured, walking towards the fridge. The door to the garage swung open as Paige walked inside, Ralph following her.
"Oh, hey Ralph. How's school?" He asked, opening the fridge.
"Good, I suppose..." Ralph responded, sighing.
"Hey, where the hell is all the food!" He glanced at Sylvester, Happy and Paige did the same.
"I'm sorry! My hunger craving got the best of me." Sly's voice quivered. He was nervous about their reactions. "It's alright, but next time, don't eat all the goddamn food." The mechanical prodigy scowled and went back to work.
"Sheesh, she's even grumpier than before, probably more grumpier than that cat I keep hearing about." Toby sighed.
"Oh, Grumpy Cat?" Ralph spoke up.
"Yeah. that cat." He replied, slightly smiling. Walter walked downstairs, "Hey guys. I'm heading out. Cabe just called." He cast a glance at his team then walked out the door.
"Hey, Toby, I heard that the Lunar Eclipse is happening tonight. From my calculations, it should be visible from the roof. " Sylvester whispered in Toby's ear.
"I'll try... But it shall be a surprise." He whispered back, looking at his desk.
Hours have passed, and it has become night time. The eclipse have fully covered the moon. Happy, now blindfolded, was being pushed by Toby up the stairs. He opened the door and led her to a picnic blanket, that carried a basket, plates, wine glasses, and candles, "Alright, you can take it off now." He smiled as she took the blindfold off.
"Hey, uh, what's going on?" Happy whispered.
"I wanted to do something during the eclipse...I thought you might like it if we had a late night picnic. Plus, I made your favorite..." He opened the picnic basket and carefully took out chocolate cake. (Okay, this probably isn't related to what this is about, but I bet I made you crave for chocolate cake right now. Right? I did...and I regret it badly... ~EC) Her eyes glistened as she stared at the cake, "H-H-How did you know?" "You were complaining about it earlier, so I had Paige help me with this." Toby replied, watching her while smiling. He took out a knife and began to slice up the cake, giving one slice to Happy and one to himself. He started slightly humming Jar of Hearts by Christina Perri. She quickly took notice, but didn't care.
"Well...?" He asked as she took of bite of the cake. Her eyes widened as she devoured the piece, "Whoa there Happy. Don't want you to get a serious stomach ache." He watched her cautiously. She slightly smiled and laid her head on his shoulder. He gently kissed her forehead and looked at the sky, watching the eclipse. He took off his fedora and carefully laid it on her head. She nuzzled him and shorty fell asleep afterwards. He took out a blanket and wrapped it around the two, beaming at her.
