I dig my toes into the sand
The ocean looks like a thousand diamonds strewn across a blue blanket

Frodo leaned out and looked out towards the Grey Havens. He watched the water rolling in and out against the sand. The sand felt dusty between his toes and the water was cold against his hairy feet. Watching the water, he felt as if he was looking back into the Mines of Moria, and he cried softly, for he missed his companions. Those hobbits cheered him up while the burden of the Ring was born onto him.

The wind blew against Frodo's gray elven cloak and he sighed. He wished that he could share this moment with Sam, and even Merry and Pippin. He closed his eyes and imagined that he was flying, weightless against the wind. Sadly, he opened them again, and he was stuck on the ground, the sea surrounding him. He smiled again, for he could not be happier to know that his friends had each other.

The sky resembles a backlit canopy with holes punched in it

"I wish you were here…" Frodo said, trailing off. Images of Sam popped into his head and he thought of all the times they shared together. He lay down into the sand and let the brown dust cover his hair. He looked up at the sky and thought it reminded him of the Old Forest, except much more peaceful.

I signal them with my lighter

Frodo saw shooting stars in the sky and smiled. It reminded him of the fireworks at Bilbo's Farewell Party. He waved at them, pretending they were Merry, Pippin, and Sam, all riding by to greet him one last time. He could not be any happier knowing that Sam, Merry, and Pippin were still alive and thinking about him.

"I wish you were here…" Frodo said again. He ran his fingers through his sandy hair and his stomach flopped around. He felt as if he was falling off the cliff again with Merry and Pippin tumbling on top of him. His arms flailed as he dropped to the ground and let the water wash over him. Even though he missed them, he knew that Merry, Pippin, and Sam were happiest in the Shire.
