He couldn't help that sweet ache that was settling in his chest as he was watching them from the doorway. Mac looked so at home next to Jen and Mattie, happily stuffing popcorn into her mouth. A perfect family, unconventional, but perfect. His family. He just had to make sure that Mac would realize just how important her role in his family was. And in time, he would make her his wife, mother of his children and, most importantly, he would make her see that this was the only way to be happy, truly happy. Not necessarily in that order.
