So this is my first Frozen story. Just a cute and silly little one-shot. Enjoy :)
Note: Bubble tea or "boba" is a type of tea drink usually containing tapioca, fruit, etc. pearls/jellies on the bottom. In case there is any confusion.
I don't own Frozen or the characters.
Anna grabbed Elsa's arm and pulled her into the store.
"Oh. My. Gosh! Elsa, do you know how excited I am for this?" Anna stood by the entrance, covering her gasp with her hands.
The blonde chuckled. "I think I can tell how happy you are, Anna."
The two had just stepped into a boba tea parlor. They had never been to one before, and ever since Anna had heard about the good in a TV advertisement a few days back, she had been constantly begging her sister to accompany her to try it. It sounded like it would be an absolutely delectable drink—Anna just had to have some!
They stood before the service counter, Anna squinting her eyes to look up at the menu above them.
"Hi, what can I get for you two today?" the cashier gave a warm smile.
"Um, gee, what should I get, Elsa?" Anna turned to the older girl, beaming from ear to ear and eyes sparkling with anticipation and delight.
"I don't know, why don't you randomly pick one?" Elsa replied, resting a hand on Anna's shoulder.
"Might I suggest the original milk tea with boba? It's a great classic flavor," the cashier politely stated.
Anna frowned slightly. "I mean, yeah, I get that, but I want to start with something that has…" she paused, opening her hands with a flourish, "…pizzazz, you know?"
The cashier gave Anna a quizzical look, but Elsa interjected before her sister could speak further. "How about a, uh, large almond milk tea? With lychee jelly."
"Wait, Elsa!" Anna tugged on the older girl's sleeve. "You can't just make decisions for me! That's so unfair!" The brunette puffed her cheeks out with an annoyed glare.
Elsa ruffled the other girl's hair. "Then make a choice, silly. I guess I'll just have that other one for myself."
Anna faltered, furrowing her eyebrows in consideration. No, if she gets her own drink, then what happens to enjoying it together? My whole plan of sitting next to her, sipping from the cup while we talk about random stuff goes out the window! Geez, Elsa's just reopened herself up to you, you don't want her to withdraw again…
The contemplator rolled her eyes and sighed. Wow, seriously Anna? Don't be ridiculous, that's taking it way too far, you're definitely overthinking this. I mean, come on, it's just a dumb drink. Elsa won't think much of it so you—
Someone clearing their throat interrupted Anna's internal rambling.
"Anna, you don't want to keep the nice lady waiting…" Elsa mentioned quietly, tilting her head towards the cashier who was patiently watching Anna.
"Oh, yeah! Um, sorry…" Anna pored over the menu once more. How could anyone ever make up their minds with so many choices?
"You know what, I'll have the, uh…" the younger sibling started before slipping off into ponderation again. But wait, if I get a separate drink, then I can have double the flavors to try! Yeah! Though I do still have to choose which one I want… Geez, Anna, hurry up and pick something so you and Elsa can enjoy a delicious refreshment!
"I'll just have one of those that you suggested earlier," Anna finally spoke up, somewhat hastily. She hesitated, knowing that she had made an earlier claim against the drink, but shrugged and nodded at the cashier.
"The original milk tea with boba? You got it," the lady replied, preparing the cup that would hold the drink. "Anything else for you two?"
Elsa stepped forward while reaching for her wallet. "No, thanks, that'll be all."
"Macarons!"
The blonde sent an amused look in Anna's direction. "But Anna, I thought—"
"Come on, Elsa, they look absolutely mouthwatering!" Anna gazed up at her older sister, attempting to imitate the "puppy-dog" eyes. "Please? You know you wanna try them as much as I do," she continued, wiggling her eyebrows.
"You're acting like I have something against them, which I don't," Elsa responded. She playfully poked the other girl's cheek and turned to the cashier. "We'll also have two…green tea macarons, please."
"Yay! You. Are. Awesome," Anna squeezed the taller girl, who couldn't help but giggle when looking at Anna's expression.
"Oh, Anna, you're adorable…" Elsa said, wrapping an arm around her sister.
After paying, the cashier retrieved their macarons and the two sat down at a nearby table to wait for their drinks. Anna could not stop smiling the entire time, and when their order was ready, she bounced up to collect them, happily putting the straws in both cups and handing one to Elsa. She then immediately took a sip of her own drink.
Anna's eyes closed in delight. "Mmm… This really is as good as it looks! Elsa, let me try yours!"
"Of course."
Elsa took a brief sip of the drink she held first, widening her eyes in a way to say "not bad." She passed the cup to Anna, who had an even more pleased expression after tasting the drink.
"Wow, I think yours is even better than mine!" Anna exclaimed.
"You can go ahead and have it, then. I'll take the other one."
Anna looked at her sister with joy. "Are you sure? Aw, Elsa, you really are the best!" She leaned over the table to give the other girl a quick kiss on the cheek.
Elsa's face reddened, sensing tiny snowflakes materialize in the air around her. "Don't mention it, Anna. Really."
They sat in the store for quite some time, enjoying their midafternoon snack. Anna thought that the day couldn't get any better; spending time with her sister, especially doing little things like taking a stroll or going out to try some delicious new beverage that was on TV, filled Anna with the greatest feeling of gratification.
