Ok wow its been so long since I've submitted something for One Piece (or anything at all really). Stupid school and lack of free time. I've been wanting to write something like this for a while now and I'm not too happy with how it came out but at least its something right? Sorry for the very late birthday ficlet for Luffy but its like 7:30 AM and I haven't slept for 2 days so my bad. Also not that original of a title but I had the song Twentytwoyears stuck in my head whilst writing this (Good song :D). School is coming to a close so that means many exams/tests not to mention I have my recital coming up too so I'll try to continue writing and reading. Enjoy! Oh and Happy Mother's Day! :)

21 Years
Today was a special day for Luffy, no it was not because it was his birthday, it was because of the number.
Now to most your 21st birthday would be the age where you are treated as an official adult for being able to legally be of drinking age, but to Luffy it was something more.
Four years since that faithful day of his leave on his journey to be the Pirate King,
two years since the day of the life changing separation on Sabaody,
and one year ahead of his brother.
Sabo left and ended first at age 10,
Ace left second at age 17 and ended at 20,
Luffy left last at 17 and still continues on his journey today. After so long of forever being weaker out of the three and always crying over any little thing, he finally wins.
'Sabo, Ace you may have left before me but now I'm ready to break away from that crybaby I once was. Now at 21 years I'm ready to become the man you two couldn't fully be. I'm ready to be the strongest, Pirate King. I have nakama by my side that will help me just as you guys once did.
I'm ready to surpass you.'
