So nostalgia got the best of me and I think I'm over obsessing over Geronimo Stilton, my legit hero when I was younger. This idea had been in my mind for a while so here goes...
I was sitting at my desk in the late afternoon typing on my computer and sipping my cup of warm tea. It was nice and quiet, except for the thumping of paws down the halway.
Oops, I forgot to introduce myself. My name's Stilton, Geronimo Stilton. I'm a publisher for The Rodent's Gazette, the most famouse newspaper on Mouse Island.
Anyways, those thumping paws? They turned out to be my dear Benjamin and his friend, Pandora. They scampered into my office all excited.
"Uncle G! We found something really cool!" Benjamin said excitedly, running up to my desk.
"Aren't you two up a little late?" I asked, pushing my chair away from my desk to greet him.
"Aren't you too?" Pandora asked.
"Well, I have an exception." Benjamin jumped onto my lap, holding a strange device with a round button on it.
"What's this?" I asked, taking it from him.
"I don't know! We saw someone toss it in a garbage and when we touched it, the button glowed. We wanted to show it to you first!" He smiled.
I inspected it. The button was red, and the device was a light blue. It didn't feel heavy at all.
"I'll take a look at it tomorrow, okay? I'll find out what it is." I said, putting it in my desk drawer. "In the meantime, you two need to get to bed."
After dropping the two mouselets at their homes, I myself drove home. I was so glad to finally be home after the long day. I changed into my PJs and crawled into bed tiredly and yawned, soon falling asleep.
Next morning as I made my way to my office again, I couldn't stop thinking of that device. What did that mouse make it for, and why did they throw it away? Was it broken? I had no idea but I was determined to find out.
I walked into my office and sat down, taking the device out of the drawer first thing and inspected it. It didn't look seem to take any batteries because it didn't have a battery cover of some sort. I couldn't rip it in half because it didn't have a seam down the side. I dared not press the button until I knew more about it. I set it aside to do some research about anything it might be.
After about an hour of not finding much, I sat back in my chair, defeated. Nothing on the internet spoke of it, and I stared at it. I almost wanted to press the button, but if that mouse threw it away, it had to have done something they didn't like. Or it was broken and didn't do anything at all. Maybe that's why they threw it away. So it wouldn't hurt to press it if it did nothing at all, right? I picked it up again and was about to press it when my cousin Trap barged into the room. I quickly set it back on the desk.
"Hey cousin! What'cha up to?" He asked, sauntering over to my desk.
"Not much." I replied. "Just a little busy."
"Busy, eh?" He jumped up and sat on my desk. He picked up the device and looked at it. I extended a paw to stop him but it wouldn't have done anything.
"Don't play with that. I'm still trying to figure out what it is." I said, twitching an ear as he set it down.
"Where'd ya get it?" He asked.
"Benjamin found it."
"Oh, by the way! I gotta show ya something I got in at my store today! It's pretty cool!" Before I could protest, he grabbed my paw and jumped down from the desk. Little did the both of us know, that caused him to accidentally knock the device onto the floor. He dragged me out of the chair.
"Trap, I told you I was busy. Can I see it later?" I asked, taking back my paw.
"I'll take a picture for ya then!"
"Good. I'll be waiting." I smiled and turned around and walked back to my desk. Trap headed back to the doorway. I accidentally stepped on the device and looked down in shock as it vibrated and everything around me was surrounded by a blue light. I let out a cry as I felt myself black out into nothingness.
Trap whirled around to see no one standing there anymore. "Geronimo? Geronimo!"
I'm sorry for the cliffhanger but I lost my notebook for RDMYTO so I gotta find it before I lose interest in the story. Leave a review? More to come!
