The moon hung silver in the sky, casting an ethereal glow upon the snow laden landscape. The raven haired prince with dark eyes was outside the window, throwing rocks in hope of attracting the attention of his love. Just as he picked up another small pebble, the golden haired youth from the fruit shoppe finally appeared, long hair down and bleached silver from the moonlight.
"Go away," He told the prince, voice trembling,"you're not allowed to be here."
"Let's run away," he pleaded, sweeping out his black cloak as he held out a pale hand to grab,"they will not let us be together but out there we are free. Please Love, we'll do it together."
The youth cast a glance behind him, at his peacefully sleeping brother who was blissfully unaware of their forbidden relationship. The boy with the dull gold hair snored softly as he murmured his dear brother's name. The youth turned back to his lover to grace him with a sorrowful smile. "I'm sorry, my Flame, but I cannot."
"Why?" the prince fell to his knees, smile wavering as he questioned the one at the window. He looked so fragile, kneeling pathetically in the snow like that. Almost like a figure of ice, one touch and he could shatter.
"I can't... because I... I..." the blond slowly picked up the heavy round fruit from the basket by the windowsill,"I cantaloupe."
