This is just a fun little bit of romantic fluff. Enjoy. The rules are just there because they are worth mentioning.

*Yes, yes, I know. I don't actually own Sonny with a Chance. yada yada.*

How to tell the one you love that you love them?

1. Be brave - the rewards are worth the pain

2. Be humble - if you think you are above then you aren't worth the trouble

3. Be selfless - give because you love, not to get something in return

4. Be strong - to give support or face rejection

5. Be thankful - love is a gift, whether reciprocated or not

6. Be respectful - everyone deserve a chance and a choice

7. Be honest - don't assume and don't imply

Rehearsals have just wrapped up and Chad has decided to tell Sonny how he feels. Now, before he loses his nerve. He makes a quick stop in his dressing room to grab a small box wrapped in deep purple paper with a lavender bow. He winds his way through the corridors to her dressing room, where he knock lightly on the door.

A short time later the door swings open and there is his Sonshine standing there with a warm smile lighting up her face. She is beautiful, even after a full day of work with a freshly scrubbed face. He barely even notices that she is dressed simply in a pair of old jeans and a black tee-shirt. "Hey Sonny." he says softly as he walks closer to her.

"Hi Chad." Sonny blushes and looks at her toes.

"Well, I think I will just be going now." Tawni says uncomfortably. She takes a quick peek at herself in the mirror before heading out the door. "See you tomorrow, Sonny." Tawni is gone before Sonny can react.

Chad closes the door behind him and follows Sonny over to the chaise where they sit down next to each other. He grabs Sonny's hand and starts playing with her fingers. "Sonny, I have something I want to tell you."

"Yeah?" Sonny whispers completely absorbed by what he is doing to her hand.

"Sonny." Chad holds their hands still and waits for her to look up at him. For a moment they are both lost in each other eyes and nothing is said. Suddenly, Chad leans forward and gently places his lips on Sonny's. When she doesn't object, he presses a little farther and tilts his head for a better angle. Sonny's free hand creeps up to his cheek and then slowly back into his silky hair.

Chad pulls back a little, ending the most perfect kiss of his whole life, and leans his forehead against Sonny's. He breathes in and out once. "Sonny Monroe, I love you." he whispers. She leans back, stunned and Chad begins to feel a little panicked but also a profound relief that he finally told her the truth. Sonny begins to grin, just a little and then a little more. Soon, the smile has spread across her face and sparkles in her eyes. It is the Sonny grin that Chad loves and so much more. "I love you too." She kisses him again and he can feel her smile against his lips. They pull apart and she snuggles into the crook of his arm with a happy sigh.

"Random Diva" Chad teases.

"Drama Snob" Sonny replies.

"I still love you." He says as he places the small box on her lap.

She carefully unwraps it and opens the velvet box, then gasps. "Chad, it's beautiful!" Sonny pulls out the intricate silver locket and chain. Chad opens the heart shaped pendent and turns it so she can see the tiny picture of them inside with an engraving opposite. 'For my Sonshine. Love, Chad'.

Chad closes the locket and helps her to clasp it around her neck. Looking up, he sees tears in her eyes and his heart melts a little bit more.

The bad boy has met his match and couldn't be happier.
