Title: In Your Arms
Fandom: Arrow
Pairing: Laurel/Oliver
Spoilers/Warnings: Up to 1x03 Lone Gunman, but technically takes place 1x02 Honor Thy Father.
Author Note/Disclaimer: Also in one of the episode stills for Honor Thy Father , it looks like Oliver was kissing Laurel's forehead. During the hug scene so this fic also touches upon that. Also, I don't own Arrow.
Summary: At the moment, there was only place where she would feel safe.
She has never considered herself to be a damsel in distress.
Ever since she was a child, her father force her (and her sister) to take self defense classes. However, when the Chinese assassin (China White) and her goons, she was caught off guard.
Although, it seemed like Oliver knew right away or at least suspected that something bad was going to happen. Instantly took control of the situation, by trying lead her to safety, or at least protect to the best of his ability.
Only having a knife (which he used to cut the plastic surrounding the lid of the Rocky Road Ice-cream container earlier that evening) to defend the both of them.
It certainly help matters, when John Diggle (Oliver's bodyguard) burst inside her apartment, gun ready. Ready to shoot the assassins that were after her life.
Even though, she suspected the only reason why he bursts inside her apartment was to protect Oliver, but if Oliver chose to protect her. Then by default, John will protect her as well, but she couldn't deny the fact she was grateful for his help.
There was only so much a knife and martial arts can do against armed assassins.
But after the danger was over with China White rushing out of the apartment. She rushed to his arms. For those few moments she forgot her earlier resentment for Oliver, or the fact that he slept with her sister.
She simply felt safe.
Perhaps that was what she needed, at that particular time.
To feel safe.
After all, armed assassins did try to kill her.
Honestly despite her self defense lessons, she has took in the past. She has never been ambushed, or had anybody try to kill her.
She can vaguely feel Oliver press his lips against her forehead in a loving manner, and despite all the pain and hurt they cause each other.
She knows Oliver still has feelings for her.
"Are you okay," he questions, slightly moving away from her, but gently ran his hand through her chestnut locks, as he studied her.
She nods silently. Not trusting her voice at the moment. Even though, she can hear in the other room John calling her father letting him know what happen.
She almost foresee what would happen when her father gets here. She would probably forbid her to ever see Oliver again (even though she was a grown woman, and if he weren't here. She would probably be dead.)
She has half a mind to tell Oliver (and John) to leave so she can avoid that conversation.
But at the moment, she wanted to stay in Oliver's arms.
