This is definitely how Lucy was asked out. Definitely. I can't imagine it going many other ways.

Lucy's anger was boiling. Soon, she knew her face would go bright red and then everyone would be in trouble. She and Natsu were having a fight, and they were both EXTREMELY angry about it. It had started when Lucy confronted Natsu about why she hadn't been invited on their last job.
"I thought it was a good opportunity for you to go on a date with your boyfriend." Natsu huffed.
"We went over this! We went on one date!"
"And you wasted your first relationship on that punk!"
"What do you know about relationships?!"
"I know that I hate it when you're in one!"
"Is that what this is about?"
"Yes!"
"Natsu, I have every right to a boyfriend, just like Cana has her rights to beer!"
"No! You can't date someone unless I approve of him!"
"What are you, my bodyguard?"
"Yes!"
"See, this is the problem. I say something or do something that you don't approve of, and you freak out!" (A/N: Man, I Think I Love her reference…)
"BECAUSE I DON'T WANT YOU TO BE HURT BY ANYONE BUT ME!"
"I HATE YOU!"
"GO OUT WITH ME!"
"FINE!"
"FINE!"
