She was about ready to crack- No, not literally, but sometimes this subject made her feel like that. She hid behind the edge of her German book, looking at him browse the Internet, not a care in the world.
She knew it was wrong for her to think such things about Jun, but it was not like she could help it. Ever since she had arrived in her case, Shinku had started feeling strange in a way she had never felt before, as much as she would never admit it.
Shinku knew exactly what this feeling was, and she did not like it. It was not something the Rozen Maidens were supposed to feel, the very reason being in their title. But of course, this did not restrain Shinku one bit; normally she would have done it herself but this was different.
"What're you lookin' at?"
Shinku's eyes widened when she realized she had been staring at Jun the entire time, and she quickly hid behind her book muttering, "Nothing. No need to concern yourself."
Jun rolled his eyes and turned his swivel chair back to his computer screen. "Whatever."
Shinku mentally sighed. She must keep a closer watch on her actions, honestly.
Eventually, Jun went to bed, ordering Shinku to get off of it, to which she delivered the routine kick to his shin, making him hop about before she returned to her case next to the closed case of Hina Ichigo.
All was quiet for most of the night, except for Jun's snoring, but that was there every night. Shinku still laid curled up in her case, having not been able to sleep, for the need kept her eyes wide open.
'Perhaps it wouldn't hurt,' Shinku thought, fully aware it could hurt. She lifted open her case with a click that sounded like a firecracker to her ears, but was really about the noise level of a glass of milk being poured.
She crept up onto his bed and took off her shoes, even though her feet weren't much softer, and set the dressy shoes on the floor with a thud that she hoped no one heard. Shinku tiptoed along Jun's side, minding where she stepped so as not to move the covers too much, until she at last made it to his face, standing on his chest near his collarbone.
The fifth Rozen Maiden looked into Jun's sleeping face. 'So peaceful, so different than what he is like during the day...'
Retaining her alertness, Shinku bent at the waist until her lips met his, and held the position for a few seconds- At least, that's what she would have done had Jun not bolted upright with a strange noise coming from his throat the instant he felt someone kissing him. Shinku was thrown back onto Jun's stomach from the sudden movement.
"Shinku, is that you?" Jun reached behind him and fumbled with the head of his bed until he located his glasses, balancing them on the tip of his nose to get a more detailed look at the intruder, who was standing and dusting herself off.
Shinku walked across his stomach and chest as gracefully as she would a stage, meeting his eyes with a tilt of her head. Both were silent for a few moments, one with a flushed face and an open mouth and the other looking as if the former was a dog that needed reprimanding, then Shinku decided to get away from this as fast as she could with her dignity before she started blushing visibly.
Shinku slapped Jun across the mouth, just as usual, and hopped off his bed without a word, slipping her shoes back on and going back to her case only to see four wide-eyed Rozen Maidens staring back; Hina Ichigo, Suiseiseki, Kanaria and a visiting Souseiseki.
Shinku felt like slapping herself with her hair. The noise her shoes made when they hit the floor must have rattled the cases and woken the other Rozen Maidens up. "Good night, all of you," Shinku half-shouted as she climbed into her case and shut the lid tightly.
