Red & Blue, Blue & Red

Red eyes and blue hair… Ayanami….
Blue eyes and red hair… Asuka….
They're different, but alike in a way. They can't deny it; it's visible even in their own eyes. They're EVA pilots, just like me. They have their destinies, their own hardships, and their own identities. They find themselves within their EVAs; Asuka has EVA Unit 02 while Ayanami has EVA Unit 00. They're connected in a way, a way that seems unclear to me. And, they want to be recognized as just people, not dolls.
Because dolls don't do much; they just sit there and stand idle. Useless. They don't want to feel that way: useless and unwanted by other people. They wish to be accepted. To be seen through another person's eyes as worthy of their existence. To be loved by another human being. To become one with the one they love.
But, they're different as well.
Ayanami has red eyes and blue hair while Asuka has blue eyes and red hair. Ayanami is obedient and she connects with my Father. Asuka doesn't talk to anyone in a nice way, not to me, that is. She sees me as inferior in her eyes, but I know that act is a facade. Ayanami is neutreal towards me, which is what I don't understand. She reminds me of….my mother.
They're alike, because they're just like me.
