True Feelings
Kneeling next to Claire with a blanket in his arms, Charlie wondered when his feelings for her had become so strong. He had never hoped for anything more than friendship with Claire; after all, she was far too good for the likes of him.
Maybe his feelings had begun to change when she agreed to move to the caves; never before had anyone shown such trust in him. Or perhaps he had felt this way all along and been too drug-addled to realize it.
Draping the blanket around Claire's trembling shoulders, Charlie couldn't hold his feelings back any longer. He loved her with all his heart.
