A/N: I know that I still have a story that I haven't updated in a while, but this has been sitting on my desktop for a while and the plot bunny for "You and I" is on vacation; once he decides to come back (which will be soon, or I'm going to bring him back myself lol) I'll get back to that.
BUT, back to the poem. Like I said, I wrote this a while back, and I've been meaning to post it somewhere. I don't remember where the inspiration came from, but a series of interesting events have been upon me lately and made me remember why I write poetry. I hope you enjoy it! :)
Praying to a god i don't believe in
hoping that hate won't be what i become
waiting for the phone call by an empty mirror
my reflection seems to dim when you are home
can't believe my luck is setting out
can't even trust the life i have
wasting away is not a time for misery
hoping for love to crawl its way back
oh, love is too much
for a soul like me
turning the clock back
won't change what i will be
from the past to the present
from the present to the future
what is now is unknown
until we look back at it later
don't waste you life
looking for that one ton weight
relief that is around the corner
the world may be on your shoulder
but you can't share it alone
take my shoulders, roll it over
go back to the place that you call home
oh, love is too much
for a soul like me
turning the clock back
won't change what i will be
from the past to the present
from the present to the future
what is now is unknown
until we look back at it later
don't be deceiving us
i can't hide our pain
the stress cannot get to us
life isn't just a game to play
roll the dice, russian roulette what is be
unmask the lies
for you and for me
oh, love is too much
for a soul like me
turning the clock back
won't change what i will be
from the past to the present
from the present to the future
what is now is unknown
until we look back at it later
A/N: Like? Don't like? Let me know! That little button at the bottom of the page (*cough-cough, review button, cough-cough*) is certainly helpful.
