Title: Untitled

Rating: Pg-13

Summary: Brian compares his relationship with Rome to the one he had with Dominic.

Notes: This is a desperate attempt to break my writer's block, so don't really take it seriously. I'm trying to write another chapter for 'Meetings', and I *promise* it will be out soon. Also, please note that I am normally a B/D shipper, so this kind of fic is odd for me.

Brian's sitting in the middle of a restaurant somewhere, shoving pancakes into his mouth and ignoring the flirty waitress.

Things had been going well for him. He'd opened his garage, was working on cars like he'd always wanted, and best of all, he was back with Rome. *With* Rome, not just friends anymore. They'd been together when they were younger; just experimenting at first, then moving onto something more.

The day that Rome got sent up was one of the worst days in his life. As bad as the day that he watched Dom leave.

They were a lot alike, Rome and Dom. Brian wonders if maybe that's why he latched onto Dominic; he reminds Brian so much of Rome. They were both jealous, protective, and so *open* sometimes that it shocked him. But Dominic is a little less crude, and Rome is a little more open to just letting go and having *fun*.

Brian's attraction to them was different, too. He just *felt* so different when he was with each of them.

With Rome, it's like there was a fire burning in his stomach that rose up and made him so *hot* that he needed to extinguish it, or else he'd die. With Dom, it was different. Much more *intense*, like he was being completely consumed quickly and he had no chance of fighting it.

Not that he'd want to.

He didn't know which he liked best. He loved the slow burn that he felt when Rome kissed and touched him, but it was impossible for him to resist the rush of feeling that hit him when Dom pushed inside him.

Thinking hard, Brian realizes something: Dominic wouldn't last. That rush of flame that Brian felt always disappeared after, but with Rome it just receded to the pit of his stomach, where was nursed until Brian was pushed too far. Rome was a permanent flame, and Dom was like a flare.

He wonders why he's thinking of this before ten in the morning, and decides that it's not important. Dom isn't coming back, and Brian loves Rome in a way he isn't sure he could Dom.

He just hopes that Dom doesn't come back, because even if Rome is forever, Brian tends to live his life day by day, and he isn't sure that he wouldn't be stupid enough to give up forever for a day.
